Boomers are at least 60 years old now... they don't look that old in the picture. But... at least three different boomer aged grandparents pick up kids at my daughters school... so even the boomers know what a Rivian is... Hell... my boomer parents got a taste of 835 hp launch when we first got our R1S... Believe me, they now know what a Rivian is.. or at least their ass does...

Boomer is literally a shortening of Baby Boomer as a humorous insult against that generation.

Sure, people now often use it to joke about anyone older themselves, but used “as a generation” it absolutely refers to the people born in the post-WW2 baby boom from 1946 to 1964.

We are "baby boomers" or "boomers", whichever you prefer. We we born in '48 and '49, respectively. We have been on this Rivian adventure since the very beginning. SuEllyn put her deposit down on November 28th, 2018. We are both "car guys" and are affluent enough to entertain our automotive whims.

We traveled to the Rivian Factory in Normal to take delivery of Opal (our R1T). We still have a Silverado Duramax, but Opal is our favorite. We drive her every day. Just because we are a little older doesn't mean that we refuse to embrace new technology. Our four sons call us to help them straighten out their notebooks and cell phones.

I’m 78 and got my 2024 R1S in March. Getting ready to pull my 19’ boat to the coast. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned, and the most fun!

This just shows how the mainstream media has purposefully kept consumers in the dark about EVs you can actually buy.

They are shielding their best advertisers, who happen to be legacy auto companies, oil and gas, dealerships, auto parts, etc. from being disrupted. The media is looking out for their sources of revenue, not the companies who want to disrupt those sources of revenue.

I’m 61 so at the tail end of the boomers. My masters degree in Software Engineering is testament to my technical skills. I love my Rivian. Old in age doesn't necessarily mean old in thinking.
