I recently had the opportunity to test my A2Z Typhoon adapter with Tesla’s V4 SuperCharger in Wilsonville, OR. It was super easy — just plugged in and my R1T started charging — and the best news is that the V4 cable is long enough that you don’t need to take up 2 stalls. I parked in the center of the proper stall, plugged the charge cord into the Typhoon adapter and plugged that into my R1T. This is a game changer for me.

Just consider yourself lucky the cops weren’t called on you.

I supercharged at 3 Tesla locations in Oregon this week and at all 3 locations I was approached by curious Tesla owners. They were not at all concerned about congestion — they know more SuperCharger’s are coming, a lot more — and one person said he was holding off on an R1T until he could use the SuperCharger network. Claimed he was putting in his order the same day.

19¢/kWh? ?
Is that the standard price at that station?
I was surprised as well. I was wondering if Tesla was trying to encourage people to charge there as a means of testing the V4 SuperCharger.

I have 3 followers on Instagram (my wife & kids) so maybe Tesla gave me a special rate since I’m a big influencer.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
The @A2ZEV adapter arrived this week, and after dropping my wife off at the airport this morning I gave the Tanforan SC a shot. Worked great. However, it was $0.50/kWh, so I just tested to see what max rate I would get (and took the dog out to sniff and pee in the rain). 146kW at approx 50% SOC, so about what you’d expect from a RAN.

Did my test yesterday as well and it went great. Only got a few curious looks of confusion from Tesla owners.

Nice. I ordered the A2ZEV adapter- I ordered it myself as I have heard that the roll out will still take a couple of months for Rivian to get their adapter to me (got my R1S August 2023). I cruised into the Tesla Supercharger station in Morongo off the 10 Freeway , just outside of Palm Springs, CA. Thinking I was going to be super cool and turning some heads... lol. Well, I tried and I tried for 40 mins to make it work. No Bueno. I called A2ZEV (amazing customer service btw) and they told me that not all Superchargers are working for Rivian and they are seeing this across multiple forums. They asked me to go to another Tesla Station this week, and they will actually Facetime with me to check that I am connecting correctly or to check the adapter is OK.
Question 1: Did you order your adapter directly with A2ZEV?
Question 2: Did you download the Tesla App and add payment info (to get the .019/kWh)? Question 3: If you got yours from Rivian, has Rivian still put those who don't have their adapter 'on hold' and when it arrives they update the individual vehicle to THEN enable charging at Tesla Superchargers?

The only thing I didn't do was change my payment method on the TESLA app, as I was thinking perhaps that was why it wouldn't connect... my credit card wasn't accepting the Tesla charges.

I really thought it was going to be super easy, but had to give up with my tail between my wheels.

There are 2 SuperCharger’s in Cabazon: Desert Hills Outlet and the Morongo Travel Center but only the Travel Center will work for us. You should always check out Tesla Findus to determine which SC’s we can use. Hint, if it doesn’t say “Open to Tesla and NACS Enabled Vehicles“ it won’t work.

I was going to say, did you make sure it was one of the chargers open to Rivian in the first place?

Is that site linked up to date? When I turned off every filter except “superchargers open to other evs” there was barely any stations that popped up. I’m looking especially at the I-10 southern route across the US. Something seems off.

You need to filter on “SuperChargers Open to NACS”.
