Nope, have an R1S now, and we have a second vehicle too that's a PHEV. I expect to drive both into the ground, and don't have a need for a new car within the next 5 years.

The R2 will likely end up replacing the other vehicle when it's time.

The simple answer is No.... For the moment.

For me, having the kids I have, a 2 row SUV doesnt make sense, and I highly doubt the range will be any better than the current R1.

If they made a Mini-Van, I would immediately put a deposit down.

I almost didnt buy my R1S because of range anxiety and other options on the market.

I will keep a ICE in my stable until a 5-600 mile range EV comes out. My wifes Mini-Van gets 520 range on its ICE.

What I really want more info on is the R1S Ascent! 1200HP.. Yes please!

Given how quickly RIVIAN refunded my $1k deposit for the R1S, and the fact that I love my R1T, yes, I have nothing to lose.
In contrast, I’ve been waiting for 7 months for GM to refund my Hummer deposit (they have technical issues) and about 5 months so far to get my Roadster $50k deposit back from Tesla which has been an absolute nightmare.

RIVIAN in contrast refunded my deposit within hours.

Also, having been a day 1 reservation holder of the R1T, I know full well the benefits of being 1st in line. This is the first car I’ve ever owned that didn’t lose value in two years.

Just got our R1S in December '23, and it's been great. Definitely putting the $100 down on the R2, but...Rivian better figure out how to actually sell these in the 'problem' states, New Mexico being one of them. I had to fly to Denver to pick up our R1S and immediately road trip it back, got over the range anxiety day one needless to say.

Can we get an "I need to see the specs first" option?

Some of us have specific needs/criteria for a vehicle.. for me it must be able to tow our 3,500lb boat, so I need to see the tow rating before deciding. I also want better than 2 mi/kWh efficiency and expect closer to 3 mi/kWh out of the R2 SUV.

If that rooftop photo currently circulating is indeed the R2, it should have at least 5,000-7,000lbs towing capacity and that would work for me.

Yes. I am not normally a 70k vehicle buyer. If I can get one which meets my needs (1. Electric, 2. Off-road capable) for less money, and it doesnt kill the R1 value (e.g. if I need to drive the r1 150k miles to make it make sense financially I will, but if I can trade it in for an r2 and have a reasonable cost of ownership on the r1) I probably will.

I would keep my T forever but the post warranty repair costs have me a little concerned. If I could save myself some $ by trading down into a smaller vehicle I would definitely consider it.

No. At least not in the immediate future.

I’m happy with my R1T and hope to keep it for a long time.

I also have a bit of “early adopter” fatigue. The truck is great.
Same here. I was an early adopter of a Model 3 and a R1S. Loved both cars but also too tired to deal with those little problems now.
We have no need of a new vehicle in the next few years. And we’d still like a Tesla in our household for the seamless Supercharger integration and nearby service center.
The R1S and Model Y are perfect for us now.

Lol, I made myself nauseous going 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with the dual performance. I can't imagine quad performance. ???

I'm curious about the value decrease. I'm a pre-increase (if that's the term) buyer. How much value has your R1 retained?

The 3.0 on the 835hp is bonkers. You dont even have time to realize your going 60 at the end, until you look down and it hits you that you probably should slow down cause you going like 70-90..

Coming from cars where its expected (SLS, Huracan, etc)... You just cant wrap your head around the idea of something this big, going this fast.

Edit: On the value... Its a mixed bag really. I am pre-PriceGate also.
I had one offer from a Ford dealer for 97k. I had one offer from a Jeep dealer 1 mile down the road for 69k. All the "websites to buy" are 84-93k. Its just wildly all over the place.

I feel it's important to support Georgia jobs and manufacturing. I hope to buy one. Just don't know what I need it for with two other Rivians at the house...
