Today I raised the PSI to 50 to see if that would help with the steering wobbling. It didn’t. Set to Sport Low and that seemed to reduce it. I’ll look into the road force balancing.

On my commute home I set it to Sport Lowest and didn’t experience any rubbing. Maybe if I would have gotten the 275/65 it would rub? Not sure. I likely won’t have a chance to experience rubbing as I tend to stay in All Purpose 98% of the time.

Were you able to fix the higher speed vibration? Any specific issues with the Black Rhino wheels or just difficult to balance? Thx!

Took it back to Discount Tire for a road force balance. The tech said with these AT tires it’s never going to be perfect. ??‍♂ That resolved some of the wobbling but I still had a bit on a recent trip. I think it’s less about the wheels themselves and more to do with the tires. A road tire should perform great versus this chunky AT.

Efficiency took a big hit. On my last trip at 60psi I struggled to maintain 2mi/kWh. Driving close behind a semi I could get just over 2. Thankfully this didn’t really noticeably impact our trip as we charged at the same stops as when I had my 22s. Ultimately I was thankful to have some chunky rubber under this 7500lb vehicle with my family inside. I’m not an expert but low profile sport 22” wheels on this heavy of a vehicle doesn’t seem as safe to me as using truck tires.

The Cooper tires didn’t work out. Steering wobble starting at 45 MPH, very difficult to keep the car centered, and lane centering just bounced around inside the lane (I looked like I was driving drunk). Discount Tire made it right and I was able to get into the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 in 275/60.

I honestly thought it was going to look bad with an all season, but I’m happy and they don’t look bad to me. The car drives like butter now! The rolling resistance is night and day difference, I barely need to stay on the pedal. Reminds me a lot of the 22s I originally had except these are comfier. All the issues I had with the Coopers went away.

Efficiency-wise the round trip I normally make in the Coopers I was getting 1.60. Today I got 2.40 in the Michelins. Granted it was nicer weather but I can tell just by the pedal response it was due to the tires.

That is awesome efficiency. How long did you drive and at what speed for that number? My lifetime with 21" is 2.3/kwh. These Michellin defenders 275/60/20 are looking very promising to be better efficiency than the 21".

It was right at 15 minutes of drive time for my afternoon commute. I still have lots of testing to do but overall I couldn’t be happier with these. Very responsive on pavement with super low rolling resistance.

I considered the Defender Platinums but those are E1 tires like the Coopers. These are XL tires which I believe have better rolling resistance.

I have now gotten my new 275/60/20 KO2 reblanced and I still have a steering wheel wobble above 50 up to about 75 then it goes away. Thing is, Car drives 100% straight and steering wheel only wobbles if I am not holding it, the second I put even the slightest pressure on it wobble goes away. Same thing if I turn on the automated cruise control, there is barely any wobble at all. I am at a lost. The last balance was done on hunter road force balance elite.

I started with 55psi cold but I brought it down to 50psi. After a few mins of driving, it goes up to about 52psi warm.

Rims look amazing too BTW, I went with the R800s in bronze but the Black Rhinos were my 2nd choice for sure.

The R800s were a close second for me. ? I really like the bronze color on those, they appear darker than the Voltaics.

Those are great tires and I’m sure the ride is awesome, but sure they don’t look as nice. Looks like I’ll my trying the new Toyos when I’m up, thx for being the Guinea pig!

Anyone having steering wheel vibration above 60mph with these wheels?

Used the stock 20" tires (brand new) and the steering wheel goes nuts past 60mph
