My passenger seat was ticking away when unoccupied. SC re-tourqed bolts but it didn't help. Investigated on my own and found the sound was coming from what appears to be a metal/rubber/metal damper or bushing under the seat. I applied some WURTH HHS Plus lubricant and the noise has been gone for weeks without reoccuring. I'm not a materials engineer, but I'd suggest against WD-40 as that's more of a cleaner than a lubricant. You probably want something plastic/rubber safe and I've always found the WURTH HHS to work well (again, just what I use, not sure if it's the "best"). Hope it helps!

Example and how to:

Ive recently had this problem too. I thought it might be a wire tapping against metal, when i adjusted the seat up it seemed to lessen the sound. I may try this, I was going to start with sticking a small piece of foam under the seat.

I'll try it tomorrow. Had the pleasure of driving around with a mobile technician who couldn't figure any of the rattles out. Such a frustrating experience... Everything they say is within spec and oh your truck sounds so much better than my service truck. I've never had a new car that had so many rattles and it's not because it's an EV.

Interesting. It does sound a bit like the rapid but faint ticking/rattle I hear from the passenger side when I drive on a particular stretch of concrete interstate, with expansion joints. Gotten so used to it I've come to tune it out.

I got excited because I thought this was going to finally show me how to fix that rattle behind my rear seat that I cannot locate. Sounds like a ball bearing in a cup every time I turn the corner.

I have a ticking that sounds like it's rear passenger area (while listening from driver seat) but now I'm wondering if it's this spot..........

So my drive in this morning 90% better still a little ticking on the worse patch. But I only did one squirt as it was really hard to get it lined up. I'll pop that off and get some more in there.

Seems like white lithium would work in this application, no? My understanding is that Li grease is safe for rubber and rubber-like products such as ACN, SBR, EPDM, silicon, etc., as long as it doesn't contain petroleum.

Mine did sound like it was the back seat too -- likely due to the location the sound comes out the back of the seat and is muffled by the seat bottom for the driver. This takes like 2 minutes- so it's worth a shot!
