I swapped the start and end times and that seems to have maybe solved it though it seems backwards. I wish it had a sensor instead of the times.

I had this happen to mine, so turned off the auto dimming. Not sure why it quit working. I really do not like the clock trigger anyway.
Mine is stuck on night mode too. I turned off the auto-dim but I will try swapping the times. Where is it getting the times from? I don't see any way to set it, so I assume it is getting it from the phone, but what if you were just using it for casting, and not CarPlay.I swapped the start and end times and that seems to have maybe solved it though it seems backwards. Awesome, thanks for sharing!Got mine today. Installed in about half an hour (routed wire under dash pad to the door and behind end of dash, completely hiding wiring). Have only tried it out in my garage, but seems to work well.
I'm impressed! I can get under their reasonable well, but then I realize I can't see S%#& up close these days, especially in the dark! ha haI moved the driver’s seat back for the install. I was flexible enough, even at my age, to install the fuse tap. I’m pretty stoked about my flexibility.
Switching the start/end only fixed it for a few hours. When I got in the truck in the evening it was then stuck on day mode. I wonder if it has to be on at the time of the "flip" for it to switch? Hopefully there will be firmware updates and it gets resolved. Otherwise it works pretty well.Mine is stuck on night mode too. I turned off the auto-dim but I will try swapping the times. I was also not able to get screen mirroring to work, though I only tried one time while the kids and I were waiting for my wife to come out of a store.
Other than that, it works well for me and as advertised. Not sure if I will keep using it or not though. Probably will depend on what the monthly subscription costs are when Rivian starts charging. I use Spotify exclusively for music with or without CarPlay. Without the ability to plan a trip with charging on an app, and having it update in real time to the current battery SoC, it seems like you will always be double navigating (using Rivian nav in parallel to your app of choice on CarPlay). Would need to do that anyway if you wanted to get the advantages of pre-conditioning the battery. The only true advantage I can see now is having the map view up on CarPlay with the gauge view on the main screen, though you could do that in a similar, albeit less-detailed manner with the map on the driver display.
I'll give it a month or so to truly evaluate how much I use it. This is in no way an indictment of the product, just my use case maybe not justifying the need for an additional screen (if I got many calls or wanted/needed to respond to texts, I could see this being more beneficial).
Screen mirroring was mentioned in some fleet promotional material, but whether this means CP/AA remains to be seen.It is better than nothing but I heard that Rivian will deploy software update to enable screen mirroring from your phone sometime in 2024.
It wakes up much more than you'd think and the screen just makes it more apparent.maybe truck is just active more?
This is 100% the situation. Sorry gang, the Rivian proximity settings for 'wake & connecting' based on phone location are a tad overly generous. It wakes up much more than you'd think and the screen just makes it more apparent.
