Honestly I have all 3 with me just about 100% of the time. The card stays in my wallet as a backup. The fob is what I am actually using 99.9% of the time though, because I don't have the patience to turn airplane mode on then off every time I approach the vehicle which is the only way my Pixel 7A will work. I still use the app regularly to remotely turn on climate controls, but it's useless as a PAAK.

I use my phone (IPhone) pretty much the majority of the time

I have a key card in my wallet for backup in case my phone dies

I only use the fob when I know my phone has low battery or I’m leaving my phone at home.

The fob will become even more irrelevant to me if they allow us to open the car with our Apple Watch.

Paak. I keep the card in my wallet for backup purposes.

Used the fob once and that was out of pure luck. I had driven to the SC for work. So they requested I bring the fob with me. When I left the SC, stopped to get some lunch. After I left they had that big server melt down. I would have been screwed had I not had my fob with me. After that I started to keep the key card with me at all times

Since taking ownership over 1 year ago, I have used the PAAK as my primary entry/exit key with the key card only for car cleaning or valet. I have not used the fob.

What is everyone’s primary, and why did you shoes it?
Fob almost exclusively.

PAAK because I always have my phone with me. Plus, I like staring at Gary though the window since it takes a randomly long time to unlock the vehicle.

PAAK all the time. FOB only for service. Key card in wallet, but has only come out to show others. Wrist band only twice because I like having a backup when on bike rides.

Key fob is always on me and so is my phone. So I use both. Cards and wristband key put away in a safe place only to come out when and if I sell the Rivian.

I use PAAK, but carry a card as backup.

My wife is set up for PAAK, but carries the fob, too.

I use PAAK all of the time. When I drove a Tesla, there were so many more easy and inexpensive options on top of PAAK. Too bad Rivian doesn’t make it as easy as Tesla does to pair cards, and third party FOBs (eg. Rings, etc) to the car. With Tesla key cards, you can pair the same card to two cars, which is convenient. The cards are not that expensive either.

PAAK has been flawless since last update. Have once had to bring phone out or open the App. I do have a key card just in case.

Anyone out there having a good PAAK experience using Pixel 4a?

Mine has never been reliable for unlocking on approach and even when I open the app and use the unlock slider it usually just pulses for about 30 seconds then stops. I'm on 42.2, but was no different before. I'd say one good unlock for every 7 or 8 tries...

I’ve never had a chance to use paak, or keycard since neither ever worked. Got the truck new then did update last 5/23 and nothing worked ever since. Bricked…. No sos, no internet, no key adds, no gps etc etc. Partial Bluetooth works… only music from phone. So never knew how app worked.

But this week I should be finally getting my truck back. As it’s been in the shop for 3 weeks getting the drunk frunk fixed too, as it was bad from day one. And the struts failed, and paint flaked off the hinges as the hinges bent farther than the factory bends. And one strut even popped off. Opened it 2 times before the issue started, and the frunk opened 100% and sagged down to 40%. Nearly injured 2 people since then. Bonked em on the noggin real hard. One person at the shop drew blood ? from frunk falling on their head.

lovely truck so far. Other than the plethora of issues it has.

I did get it in for service earlier November and told sometime this week I may be able to pick it up. My question for those who have the new updates and all…
Does iOS actually have true widgets for the Rivian app? Like BMW or Tesla does?
hopefully!!! Seems Rivian is far behind other ev manufacturers in this department.
Rivian told me on the phone today that they have widgets but I can’t see how to add them.
normally you would hold down on the iPhone screen, then press + in the top left corner, then either search Rivian or scroll down to find it… but the app does not show as having widgets. And I have the 2.5.0 version which is most current. So why no widgets? Rivian told me they have them but the vehicle has to be updated first for them to work? But I cannot find any photos online of how the widgets look and function? Anyone care to share ? Would love to know.
For instance, I will upload a photo of how the BMW widgets or Tesla ones look. “Only a few of them anyhow” but no longer have a Tesla since it always recently totaled and saved my life in the process. An elderly lady hit me head on. Anyhow, I’m excited for thr R1T but a bit worried about a lot of things so far. As so far it’s probably qualified as a legit lemon and should have returned it. But I do like the truck. It only has about 1500miles on it and only have used the fob with it. Never experienced about 90% of its features.
