Those aren’t “hardcore” enough. Rumor is it will come with a cyber-diaper and blindfold so when people are shooting at your CT you can cover your eyes and not get your seats dirty.

Not sure I've ever heard tires screech on dirt before? California dirt must be different.

Start of that video made me think this was going to end with broken tie rods.

It doesn’t look like they attempted to air down those tires at all, which probably didn’t help.

No onboard accessory compressor, so not surprised.

Has some specs that are good. Others, not so good.

Truck is a lot shorter than I expected. Looked huge, but Elon did say they were reducing the size. Appears it will be small enough to fit in most garages. The Rivian does, the F-150 is a bit long for many garages, as will be the Silverado and Ram.

Bed length at 72+ inches, over 6 feet, I think that's larger than the Ford too?
The frunk appears to be the smallest of any EV truck. While Tesla mostly invented the "Frunk", others have far exceeded them since. The Lucid provides far more usable frunk space than a Model S. The Cybertruck frunk is puny in size compared to just about all of them. I use the heck out of my Frunk.

Good that they at least included 110 and 220 outlets. We still have no verification on the true output. Ford has everyone beat for the moment. Chevy will then take the lead and then Dodge will blow them all away. Tesla, with as advanced as they are, could have easily taken the lead in this category if they wanted to. They do appear to have Rivian beat in the outlet power capability. The 220, even if weak, is superior to the Rivian since the Rivian doesn't have a 220 outlet.

It's competitive in specs, but too many deal breakers for me to consider it.....

1. One screen is HORRIBLE. Hated my Model 3 for that reason.
2. No shifter or blinker stalks.....NOPE. Not doing it. For those that just commute and are in their trucks twice a day, not a big deal maybe. For those like me who work out of my truck and am in and out 10-15 times a day, these items lacking become very noticeable.
3. Interior of all Tesla's are just too minimalist for my taste. Prefer the higher quality interiors of ALL of its competitors over the Tesla's interior. Had hoped by now, they would have decided to add some higher quality materials to the interior, being that just about every other EV has a more "luxury" feel than a Tesla.
4. The odd look still hasn't grown on me. Might have overlooked it if it blew all other trucks out of the water with its specs, but it hasn't.
5. Stainless steel exterior is going to be a real pain in the rear. I envision A LOT of these things getting vinyl wraps.

On the flip side, I wouldn't mind having Tesla's auto pilot capabilities again, but haven't missed it all that much in my 1 1/2 years with the Rivian. Rivian has improved the mapped areas, so the freeway driver+ is working better. Still has a LONG way to go, but at least is becoming more useful.
Tesla's tech and features are second to none. While some are nice, I didn't use most of them in my Model S cars.
Tesla's supercharger network is WONDERFUL, but apparently sometime next year, we'll have access to it as well. I do hate EV America. Tesla looses its advantage in this category once they open up to other EV's.

AP and Superchargers had been on my must have list, thus Tesla was my only choice for nearly 10 years. I grew out of the AP necessity. Fortunately, I don't too much long distance travel, so have made do with what's available for other EV's. So, the two must haves are no longer dominant in my needs.

Tesla drove me out the door once they introduced the Yoke with no stalks or center horn button. Have tried it and hate the functionality of the Tesla that it's a deal breaker for me. Had hoped the Cybertruck might find a happy medium, but it hasn't. Will be sticking with the Rivian for a while longer.

Have to say, from what I see, that Ramcharger plug-in Hybrid appears to be a pretty attractive offering. The 110 outlets are must haves for me. It will have those and they'll be far superior to Rivian's. For me, with an EV, I'm only willing to long distance travel if I don't need more than one stop. Any more than that, and the extra time to charge is just too much for me. The Ramcharger takes care of that. 150+ miles in EV only range with a backup generator.

I've always said, give me a plug-in hybrid with 100 miles in real world range and I'll be all in. The Ram Charger will be a great EV truck that never needs gas in my daily driving as I never go more than 150 miles in a day locally. So will still have all of the benefits of an EV on a daily basis. Yet, when I need to travel long distance, no long charging times. No need to rent an ICE. Same goes for towing. EV trucks are incredible, but for long distance and towing needs, they're a ways off. The Ramcharger solves both issues.

Unless something changes, I'll be seriously considering it when they become available.

Tesla will sell a ton of Cybertrucks to the fanboi's and many others. But, Tesla turned me off as a company and the Cybertruck does nothing to change my mind. At this point, don't see owning another Tesla of any kind anytime in the next 5-10 years. Maybe, after the wow factor wears off, Tesla will have to decide to compete with others and start offering products to satisfy a larger customer base, then I'll reconsider. Either way, Tesla will do just fine with the Cybertruck.

Other things leaked ... no range quoted but battery size expected to be 120-140 kwh. Range will not be 500 as stated during the reveal (shocker)
If battery tops out at 140KWh, then it will have same performance as R1T/Lightning. Better be much cheaper
If the expected battery capacity is 120-140kwh (basically the same as Rivian), I am confident that the advertised range will be higher than Rivian's, but the rear world will be lower. My guess is advertised will be 350, real world will be low 300 or high 290s.
Comparison related to battery size (usable), range, and efficiency.
The Rivian does quite well by comparison. Used it's numbers to estimate the Cybertruck.

Insiders indicate it will have lockers.
The Rivian seems to be a better off-roader based on specs (ie. approach and departure angles, gets).

2.9 is so overly optimistic. Probably will be happy to get 2.5 with all seasons tires and ugly wheel caps

My quick table of comparison. Similar in a lot, little more room inside on the CT. Less functionality items (frunk size, outlets etc) on the CT. Bed is longer. Otherwise basically the same
So bed length not most important spec for full size pickup buyers? Oh right, R1T not for little guys.

So u t saying Rivian battery technology (or any other car mfg) is same/efficient as Tesla? Tesla light years ahead on battery, AI, FSD, etc

Most people that buy pickups don't actually use them seriously as pickups. I do occasionally, and most of my stuff fits on a 4x4 pallet, which fits perfectly fine in the R1T bed. If I needed really long goods, I would be renting a trailer.

The shorter bed is significantly less annoying IMO. Cybertruck's sail panels mean you're almost always going to have to climb in over the tailgate.

Whoa, whut? Tesla FSD is a train wreck for all practical purposes (responsibility still falls on driver despite 7 year old promises). They made it worse by taking away USS and by their hubris, not pursuing Lidar. And AI isn't even a defined term. It's a catch phrase right now, like ghost pepper.

But battery is where you are just totally off base. Tesla absolutely has the most *data* on battery performance in EVs. But they don't hold some magic cell chemistry recipe in a safe somewhere like KFC's spice blend. They dont make batteries! They partner with Panasonic who does not have an exclusivity deal with them. And they are actively moving to higher energy cylindrical cells which could increase pack density for certain form factors. Bottom line, no one is beating the Moore's law of batteries regarding 800wh/liter. Everyone is on the same playing field with chemistry. If Panasonic can sell a million batteries to Tesla, they aren't going to deny Rivian the same option to buy that exact chemistry. They might not get as favorable as pricing, but companies don't just say no to business.
