I agree that the organ feels like a gimmick. The owl felt more like Rivian and its ties to nature.

I'll turn it on to wow the kids but you won't find me in the grocery parking lot walking away with an organ sound as the truck locks.

I agree that the organ feels like a gimmick. The owl felt more like Rivian and its ties to nature.

I'll turn it on to wow the kids but you won't find me in the grocery parking lot walking away with an organ sound as the truck locks.

It's a fun gimmick, and I probably will turn it on just to play with it, but then leave it off. Green is a bad choice for ambient nighttime lighting and the sound seems like it'll be even more annoying than short horn honks my brain has learned to tune out.

I missed out on last years with my R1T being in for service. Our R1S hasn't got this update yet, so part of me is hoping that it'll still get activated with the previous years configuration, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually been changed for a while and Rivian is just mentioning it in these patch notes.

I think it's ironic you're so worried about what others think here when the reason I don't like the organ sound is because it's going to be disruptive and annoying to others versus the natural sounds Rivian had last year. It's why I've always turned off horn honking on lock on all my vehicles.

I hope next year it's the full theme to Halloween the film, and then maybe the next year a really loud Ch-ch-ch-ca-ca-ca from Friday the 13th and you can all be embarrassed about it as well.
