Keep the cabin cool in sunny / hot states with perforated vinyl on the roof

In Arizona, I tinted (XPEL Prime XR Plus) all glass including the roof and windshield to try and reduce the insane temp in the cabin. Anything above 110 degrees the AC is close to useless for short trips and at 115 degreees outside, completely useless. So I did a thing. Added perferated vinyl on the roof and that helped more than anything so far. $102 and about an hour to install I felt like I was back in the game. Get a friend if you don't want to cuss as much when installing but well worth the extra beer to get a helping hand. I went through BannerBuzz, added a Picture for some flair and they had it back to me in less than a week. You still need all the heat reduction possible but this really added the needed layer.

Any idea whether this has much impact on aerodynamics? I understood that the reason for the glass roof is that is has less drag than painted metal.

Not sure if you're serious or not but no, the reason for the glass roof is not for aero... it's for passing visible light. And no, the vinyl will not impact your range in any measurable way. Unless you install 5,000 sheets that is.

I was thinking about doing something like this too. I was just going to do gloss black though so it was harder to see from the outside. As others have asked, any pictures of it from the inside looking out?
