Tire shop mounting machine got it started:) The rest came off easy by hand.

I installed black ones on my 22” wheels. Took ~3 hours over a couple weekends. Looked great after 9 months. Had to prematurely remove when my tire shop trashed them when mounting new set of tires.

John Day is a blast from the past. Used to spend summers as a kid at grandparent's ranch 30 mi away in Dayville. Would love to visit again in my R1S.

I removed the vinyl on a couple spokes I decided to redo. Definitely no residue. Just like new underneath.

On my R1S I noticed this hole in back right passenger door underneath the weather stripping that started to lift. It seems to me this could be a water intrusion point.

Thanks for sharing. Good to hear PDR fixed it for you. I’m going to keep checking around for reputable PDR shop in my area. I had someone tell me some rivians have a door handle component that is epoxied to inside of door panel causing it to suck in just a bit.

That is what the tech said to me as well. Ugh. I’m still holding out for hope there is a solution. Until then I will live with it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for the response! I’m aware of using the door edge to close and not the handle. It came this way on delivery. Maybe someone did this prior.

I went with Tesla J1772 unit to match wife’s Tesla NACS charger. Better price than Rivian unit.

I agree the two tone factory look on OE darks looks nice. Would love to see pictures if you get the opportunity to do gunmetal vinyl.

At only $100 it’s a low risk mod. Just takes an afternoon and some patience. Gunmetal would be interesting. My concern is you have to be even more precise with install. Benefit of the black is the pieces are fractionally wider which gives some wiggle room to be a little off.

Just thought I would share photos of TWRAPS 22” wheel vinyl install on El Cap R1S. One side complete thus far. Took me about 1 hr per wheel. A couple of the larger spoke pieces didn’t cover 100% on one wheel. Maybe some inconsistency in the machine finish. Not too noticeable. Seems like a...
