Replacement 12v jack from a Service Center?

Has anyone asked their Service Center to buy a "replacement" 12v jack for the Frunk? I haven't checked if mine still has the wiring harness for a 12v, but if it's still there, would be an easy add if they will sell you the 12v jack as a replacement part. During a mobile visit, my tech said it was possible to order one.

Unless you can also get Rivian to sell you the old version of the frunk tub, It is never going to look OEM even if you do use Rivians socket since the spot the OEM socket was located doesn't exist in the updated tub.

Yes, however the old frunk tub had a recess for the 12V outlet.

For adding a new one, you’d have to put the outlet on a vertical portion of the tub.
I added an outlet on my first R1T, but haven’t added one to the replacement yet.

For vehicles that came with the 12V outlet, there was a small recess in the lcoation of the outlet. After Rivian removed the 12V outlet and changed the frunk tub, there's no longer a recess.

For all aftermarket installation, you will need to pick a suitable location for installation.

I found a Ford 12V outlet on eBay that looked closest to OEM.

That's exactly what I used, after I found and posted about the wiring harness still available on some late 2022 VINs.

I found a few cheap ones on Amazon, but they were VERY cheap. Find an OEM Ford or Toyota outlet. They drop it in, after you cut an appropriate size hole.

On my first truck, I opted to mount on a vertical surface so the plug can be used when the frunk is closed. Didn't want to risk any cable/plug interference issues when the frunk/hood was closed.

It can be installed in the same location, but I recommend moving the port to a vertical portion of the frunk tub, so it can be used when the frunk/hood is closed.

Does it really not fit with something plugged and closed? Horizontal consumed a lot of space with the style plug and prevents you from storing stuff there without knocking it out

It all depends on the accessory being plugged in. If you did decide to put it on the top of the tub, you would want an adapter along the lines of this:
