I’m picking up my R1S in the next few weeks. I plan to swap out the 20” with 275/60r20 tires.
People in this forum have only tried the Pirelli AS or the Falken Ziex.
Can I just use any 275/60r20 or is there any other specs I should be aware of? Thanks.

If you keep the load index above 113, you should generally be safe. 116 is the current spec, but I'm on 115 now and feel pretty confident on the R1T.
YMMV.

I plan to get tires with at least 115 load index. Do you have any problem with big shops refusing to install them if they’re not 116.

Absolutely. Their systems say "116 or bust" and refuse to do it. The Discount Tire guy I talked to said, "My system won't let me... But if you go to a local shop, you can most likely get it done... I may or may not try that myself in your shoes."
I went local, got it done, and have no regrets.

Your speedo and odometer will be off, as you probably know.

I don't know if Rivian will set your vehicle to the 21" spec, if its delivered with 20" and you are putting lower profile tires on the 20"
