I’m posting this for Bruce @DuckTruck, he’s spent much time and effort getting something organized for the pdx area Rivian owners, and it’s happening! He will be out of town on the day of the event, so he has asked me if I could help out (I try, but I doubt I’m much help).

We would love to have as many owners and future owners as we can show up and support the team coming from Normal. If this sounds like something you would like to do, come on out and enjoy the fun.

It’s not 100% mandatory, but we’d love to have a head count to tell the team what to expect, so if you could send me a DM and let me know if you’ll be coming in your Rivian or not and how people you plan on bringing.…..It’s possible some swag might be there!

Thanks and I hope to meet many of you next Saturday!

Good Morning, Portland-area Rivian Owners, and all of you throughout the Pacific Northwest!

As many of us are aware, the Rivian Clubs of America (RCA) will be rolling out soon. There will be dozens of chapters around the country, and Portland will be one of them. Details will follow as soon as they're finalized. There also will be chapters in Central Oregon and the Puget Sound areas, to name just a few. With the birth of RCA, we'll be formalizing the local chapter, including soliciting ideas for events from off-roading, camping excursions, public service opportunities, Cars & Coffee, etc., as we build a calendar of events. We'll be looking not only for input about events, but also people interested in leading or helping to host various activities. We truly want to make this a collaborative effort. Ahead of the rollout, there are some exciting developments.

Rivian is thrilled to see this community expand, both in size and in the depth of connections made between individuals and regions. To help celebrate the coming of RCA, Rivian has a team of people touring the nation to visit with Rivian owners across the country. We have the good fortune to have April and Jen coming our way. They'll start in the Seattle area late next week and be in Portland in the afternoon of Saturday, June 24th. We've been discussing places that capture the beauty of the area and give all who can attend a chance to relax and spend some time together. As their arrival is right on the heels of the Summer Solstice, we thought it'd be nice to meet above the Columbia River Gorge on the old CRG Scenic Highway, above Corbett. This will allow all to spend some time together and take in a beautiful Summer sunset in the Gorge.

April and Jen said they'd like to meet around 6:00 p.m. at the Women's Forum Scenic Viewpoint, just to the West of, and overlooking The Vista House and Crown Point. They said they'd provide some snacks and beverages, along with some merch/swag to give away. From there, they'd like to move the group just down the hill to The Vista House to take in the sunset and views of the Gorge together, capturing some photos and video along the way. Aside from the beautiful view and close proximity to Portland, Crown Point also served as one of the backdrops in the very first video Rivian released when announcing themselves to the world. It seemed like a natural to capture any number of Rivians rolling together along that same route. Hopefully, we get at least one Rivian Blue R1T to retrace the tracks made by that first prototype.

Please advise as to whether you'll be able to attend and also how many people will be coming along. Also, feel free to share this with other Rivian fans, and reach out to me with any questions.

Thanks,

Bruce/@DuckTruck

I don’t know for sure when I will be needed yet, there’s a chance I might need to go early. I do think a caravan is a good idea for those that want to. I will if I can.

I’m based in Maryland but I’ll be visiting to host a completely unrelated event in Portland the following week. I’d like to consider attending but I’ll be driving a rental car with my R1T back home east. Is this ok?

I am in. I got the red canyon, if we get a compass yellow we can cover all the colors.

I have not been able to make the others one and I get back from camping that day so it’s perfect.

I can’t see why this would be a problem. I think they are wanting some R1 photos and videos for future publications so you might be excluded from that stuff, but I think any owner, reservation holder, or even just the Rivian curious would be welcome.

av8or,

Thanks for getting this posting up while I was in Eastern Oregon. I wish I could be here for the gathering and to visit with April and Jen but, unfortunately, I'll have to miss it.

I hope many, many people will be able to join in, no matter where they call home. I saw the Vista House from the Washington side of the Columbia at 8:30 last night, and it should be a great place to visit and catch the sunset next Saturday.

Thanks again, and enjoy!

obfuscurity,

Rivian, or no Rivian, if you're here, feel free to join in. April and Jen are on a mission to meet and visit with as many Rivian owners as possible as they roam aound the country. I hope other travelers take advantage of meetups with them if they find they're going to cross paths during vacations and other trips.

Feel free to DM @av8or if you'll be able to make it.

Safe travels!

Very happy to see this., great to have a group here in Portland area.

We (2) will attend if Portland SC shop finishes our 2023 Limestone/Ocean Coast PDI/delivery/repair. They've been trying to complete PDI/repairs for almost 4 weeks. Parts delivery issues from factory. Currently scheduled to finish Tuesday? this week, if part arrives un-damaged.

This will be a great first outing

I hope your repair is finished in time, but even if it isn't, please feel free to come and hang out with other locals, and meet April & Jen from Rivian, as well.

Please feel free to DM me with your contact info as I continue to build the contact list for our upcoming Portland Chapter of Rivian Club of America and keep all in the loop for local events and gatherings. I hope everyone in the area does the same.

Take care and good luck!
