I’m posting this for Bruce @DuckTruck, he’s spent much time and effort getting something organized for the pdx area Rivian owners, and it’s happening! He will be out of town on the day of the event, so he has asked me if I could help out (I try, but I doubt I’m much help).
We would love to have as many owners and future owners as we can show up and support the team coming from Normal. If this sounds like something you would like to do, come on out and enjoy the fun.
It’s not 100% mandatory, but we’d love to have a head count to tell the team what to expect, so if you could send me a DM and let me know if you’ll be coming in your Rivian or not and how people you plan on bringing.…..It’s possible some swag might be there!
Thanks and I hope to meet many of you next Saturday!
Good Morning, Portland-area Rivian Owners, and all of you throughout the Pacific Northwest!
As many of us are aware, the Rivian Clubs of America (RCA) will be rolling out soon. There will be dozens of chapters around the country, and Portland will be one of them. Details will follow as soon as they're finalized. There also will be chapters in Central Oregon and the Puget Sound areas, to name just a few. With the birth of RCA, we'll be formalizing the local chapter, including soliciting ideas for events from off-roading, camping excursions, public service opportunities, Cars & Coffee, etc., as we build a calendar of events. We'll be looking not only for input about events, but also people interested in leading or helping to host various activities. We truly want to make this a collaborative effort. Ahead of the rollout, there are some exciting developments.
Rivian is thrilled to see this community expand, both in size and in the depth of connections made between individuals and regions. To help celebrate the coming of RCA, Rivian has a team of people touring the nation to visit with Rivian owners across the country. We have the good fortune to have April and Jen coming our way. They'll start in the Seattle area late next week and be in Portland in the afternoon of Saturday, June 24th. We've been discussing places that capture the beauty of the area and give all who can attend a chance to relax and spend some time together. As their arrival is right on the heels of the Summer Solstice, we thought it'd be nice to meet above the Columbia River Gorge on the old CRG Scenic Highway, above Corbett. This will allow all to spend some time together and take in a beautiful Summer sunset in the Gorge.
April and Jen said they'd like to meet around 6:00 p.m. at the Women's Forum Scenic Viewpoint, just to the West of, and overlooking The Vista House and Crown Point. They said they'd provide some snacks and beverages, along with some merch/swag to give away. From there, they'd like to move the group just down the hill to The Vista House to take in the sunset and views of the Gorge together, capturing some photos and video along the way. Aside from the beautiful view and close proximity to Portland, Crown Point also served as one of the backdrops in the very first video Rivian released when announcing themselves to the world. It seemed like a natural to capture any number of Rivians rolling together along that same route. Hopefully, we get at least one Rivian Blue R1T to retrace the tracks made by that first prototype.
Please advise as to whether you'll be able to attend and also how many people will be coming along. Also, feel free to share this with other Rivian fans, and reach out to me with any questions.
Thanks,
Bruce/@DuckTruck
