Apple is doing an EV maps piece that has charging stops and integration into the Porsche system. Would love this in my Rivian. The other day on a trip to Stamford not only were the navigation choices just bad compared to Apple/Waze/Google but when it took me to a charger it was in the wrong location...... Really want the CHOICE of CarPlay.

I don’t even care about implementing CarPlay. If they could just use Google maps or Apple Maps rather than mapbox… navigation is straight terrible right now

Rivian should offer it as a paid add on. Those who want it can pay for it and Rivian gets compensated for the time/ effort to keep it updated.

I didn't think it was going to be as bad as people have said till I used it to get back to South Orange County from Santa Monica. Once it finally got me on the 405. it wanted me to take the 91 East. I skipped that suggestion. Next it wanted me to take the 110 South! Not sure what the idea was behind that. With Rivian HQs being in Irvine, they should have RJ and their employees drive to LA and follow the navigation. That is really the only way to fix that garbage.

My Mach E has had this for over a year now, CarPlay actually reads the battery level and can do trip planning.

I agree regarding the common sense as I already knew the way home. I just wanted to see if people's gripes about it were legitimate. Unfortunately they are right.

I’ve had several situations like this. Coming back from Mammoth to Los Angeles, it estimated that I would have 80 miles left. All of a sudden, tells me to take a weird side road that left me with 3% of range 30 miles away from my destination

Don't we already have chargers in the maps on the Rivian? I'm sure Rivian will continue to enhance this...

I think the RIV Nav is OK. I actually used it yesterday from Santa Monica to OC and it didn’t gimme any weird suggestions. Last week did OC to Ventura and it was the same. Same with the way there. One time while in Palm Desert Google wanted to navigate me to a dead end, but RIV knew better.

Still, if I were unfamiliar with area I’d keep google maps open.
