Sizing up the R1T - Exterior dimensions, specs, details and updates!

Imagine it being a drawbridge over a moat. It folds down covering the gap that is created when you lower the tailgate. It rests up against the tailgate when the tailgate is closed.

That's what I am thinking too, but I don't see any connection to the actual tailgate to facilitate that in this photo.

That wasn't new either...mainly some new dimensions, the optional air compressor accessories kit, even new details on the spare tire storage area that we didn't know.

I'm thinking it slides back under that cargo area? somehow is attached to the gate, so when it opens the panel slides forward.

Yeah, it's that connection to the tailgate that I'm not seeing. They have some pretty neat hinges though, so it's probably some magical connection. Lol.

They usually send an email later in the day with the info and a link. I'm expecting the same later today.

From previous videos, they have either pushed it to flip down or it has fallen on it's own.

I still have not received the information about the width of R1T with left and right doors open. Does anybody know this answer? I sent an email to Rivian Customer Service, and their response was the width of the R1T with the doors closed. You would think someone at Rivian has a tape measurer and can open the doors and measure the farthest point of the open driver's door to the farthest point of the open passenger's door.

So what color was the RT1 in the first picture? I think Limestone but I didn't see a color listed anywhere.

Wait... What happened to the integrated gear locking cable they promised in the bed? I don't see it anywhere.

I'm assuming its still there but somehow in the bottom two oval portion. I initially thought they were for the compressor, but the size matches the cable mechanism they showed previously as well as additionally above them is digital display for the compressor to the right, and the + - control to its left.

I do hope the cable is still part of the vehicle for transporting bikes etc, but I would never rely on a cable the width of my laptop power cord exclusively to keep my bike from being stolen, but did like the potential for it to trigger an alarm and record.
