oh also, if your vehicle is not registered in germany, they dont know where to send video camera tickets, parking tickets, etc. If you were to, say.... stack up 30 of them.... even if they find you they can only legally send you 8 tickets or something like that

I might have to export mine to Iceland soon so have few questions for you
- I'm assuming stock nav doesn't work at all? Does cellular connection work? Does Spotify/TuneIn work at all?
- How exactly were the HV and LV batteries disconnected, physically?

No NAV or Cell connection, only hotspot from my phone. No US/satellite radio (I've never used Spotify, I moved overseas before Spotify was a thing so I have never used it..EVER, and I have also never watched Titanic).

There is a tow manual for Rivian that documents the disconnect procedure, reconnect is similar. I didn't do it myself but it looks pretty straightforward. Reconnecting requires special care from what I understand.

I used West Coast shipping, can't say enough good about them, they are awesome. Used 20' container, it was more expensive because I wanted my own container to speed up the process. I wouldn't risk RORO. I won't mention cost but WC is competitive. There is a $500 hazmat fee these days on top of normal shipping. Thanks to the EV ship that burned up in the middle of the ocean.

There's a reason pretty much nobody else is shipping them around the world. If it becomes a brick, at least it will be a pretty one. And, it won't rack up miles!! Trying to focus on the good side...

Trust me, they will find you. I have a trail of tickets from Austria to Spain. And I have excuses for all of them.

Yes it does pick up all the local FM stations, I'm guessing HD? And you could probably stream your device through bluetooth anyway if you could get Spotify on your phone here. I don't listen to music any more so I can't help much...

When I bought my Land Rover from a lady near Hamburg five years ago, a 20ft container was around $6000USD from the port to my door via Montreal., including draining the fuel(?), packing, customs, flatdeck tow truck to unload the container, etc.


I gather it is worse now.

Personally, I have an R1T on the US mainland and an R1S reservation configured for Hawaii delivery.

There is no way I’d have a Rivian where service is not available. My beloved R1T has needed a new DCFC Level 3 charging module, both 12V batteries replaced, and a new high voltage battery pack within 6 months of ownership and less than 2000 miles. My truck also has a diagnosed frunk sensor preventing sleep issue that I think the latest OTA fixed.

I absolutely still adore the car, but it’s needed major warranty repairs and local service has thankfully fixed everything. That said, I’d say most other vehicles have been much more reliable and I hope yours is trouble-free, but with my experience I’m patiently waiting for official Rivian support in Hawaii before taking delivery on my second reservation.
