Well, I’m now seeing Tesla fanboys now primarily defending the Cybertruck by saying: “it’s about functionality, not looks.”

I guess that means even the fanboys think it’s not that great looking.

Also seeing bs that a 500 mile range CT will come under $80k. This will require a minimum 250kwh battery pack. The battery pack cost alone will be $90-100k. Haha

Well not exactly on battery size and cost. The 4680’s are actually production and, if what Tesla says is true (not Elon, but Tesla), then the battery will offer more energy per pack size as well as being cheaper to produce.

I continue to say it, it’s a fools errand to underestimate Tesla’s R&D and manufacturing ability. If the CT and 4680’s are only 80% as effective and efficient as Tesla has stated, competitors have a huge mountain to climb to achieve parity.

Again, it is largely speculation, as this thread is full of, on my part but I try to keep an objective view and we do have some information to use, at least on 4680’s.

1. Raw element material costs of batteries have risen more than 50% ever since King Elon gave that speech. So this will kill any cost savings now. Tesla has also pretty much exhausted any long term contracts, so they’re going to need to reset to higher market commodity costs.

2. Tesla is nowhere near mass production of 4680. They can’t even make enough of them to sell Model Ys with them.

3. It’s a fool who also consistently overestimates Tesla’s capabilities. Fsd is shit (I have it), the semi is pretty much breaking down weekly, the CT is years delayed, the roadster is vaporware, their new NN is pretty much on par with the latest Nvidia server tech now, their human robot is doa.

King Elon gave the 4680 speech back in early 2020 or so.

Guess what the price of lithium has done since then? Nearly 6x the price. Only fools place so much hopium on Elon.

OK, if you say so.

Correction, I have no “hope” in Elon.
What is apparent to me is not to you and vice versa. I’m ok with that.

Just follow the market and what’s happening outside of the Tesla fanboy lens
You got it. I shall now abide by the Rivian forum for all future thinking and consideration. Now that I’ve been thoroughly schooled, I’ll go get my Tesla fanboy hat and sit in the corner.

If anyone will be able to figure it out…it’s Elon. The world is depending on him.

Don’t mention Jesus Christ and Elon in the same sentence. Jesus was great but not on Elon’s level.
I’m so glad someone gets it! What’s your Tesla Fanboy membership number? Isn’t Elon rad? He’s going to save the world and that’s so rad.

Geez, this place is actually turning towards the same (low) level of discourse as TMC. I thought you promised more @jebinc ! ? It’s all just discussion and speculation…anyone want to wager that none of the speculation, from any angle, will be 100% accurate?
