Now that I have a confirmation of my delivery between April and May of this year, I reached out to my Rivian guide.
I asked if there's going to be any plans for a service center in Tucson but he doesn't know yet.

I also asked if there's going to be mobile service in Tucson and he said they don't usually release trucks unless there is at least a service center or mobile service.
So if anyone is reading this that lives in Tucson or Oro Valley, do we actually have a mobile service available in our cities?

The closest service center is in Phoenix about a 2 hour drive.

Just consider yourself lucky you have one within 2 hours. I think Rivian sees that as acceptable or you would not have been given a delivery window at all.

Others have to drive 3-4 hours to get to the nearest SC, like anyone living in PA/ NJ/ DE having to make the trip into Brooklyn. That is a gauntlet. Or people in places like NM or MT who are more like 6 hours from an SC.

It's not the distance to the service center, it's whether or not we're going to have a mobile service available in the city.

I understand. From what I’ve read those things go hand in hand. It doesn’t seem like Rivian has any mobile service located much farther than that away from any SC. Maybe each mobile tech still has to operate from the service center each day? It would be great if they could use that to fill in bigger gaps in coverage.

Wouldn't be cost-effective for mobile service to drive an hour and a half to repair an easy fix, if that was the case.

But hopefully by the time my truck is ready they will have integrated mobile service in my area.
But they are still a young company and they're going to add service centers as time goes on

I hope you’re right. FWIW the map Rivian has on the website with current and future service centers only shows the Phoenix location for now, but things are changing all the time.

I am also on cancer treatment now, so if I have to drive to Phoenix to get my truck repaired, that's gonna be a major inconvenience!

Yes, that would be a hassle you don’t need right now! I am also in treatment - I wish you the best as you fight the good fight sir. Stay strong! :muscle:

One is not planned for Tucson this year given the map. Tucson is pretty small so I think they will just stick with Phoenix. There are many other more populated parts of the country that require SCs. Mobile service can only do so much, panel alignments, wheel alignment etc need an SC.
