Our electro-mechanically inclined folks are too busy waiting for their delivery window updatesInteresting comment about potential untapped horsepower in the rear drive that could be unlocked in the future by an over the air update. Would be interesting to hear from some of the more electro-mechanically inclined folks on this forum about this.
He's busy finding new parts and features to remove from new R1sMan, munro vids are great when sandy isn't there.
Rivian Forum hackers....let's get the red bull readyGiven that Rivian has actively reduced the available power, I doubt that'll ever happen. I bet that extra HP is leftover from them dialing back full-throttle by 10-15%, as I was told was happening during my test drive.
Didn't rivian mention a launch mode in the future? My memory is vauge but I feel like this could have some potential.Given that Rivian has actively reduced the available power, I doubt that'll ever happen. Nothing that I recall outside of the 'brake pedal, release, go' launch style. Maybe I missed it or am mis-remembering, but I am still doubtful. I was told the power was dialed back because it was simply unsafe at full power, especially for the average driver, because it was just too powerful. Makes me wonder what the 0-60 is with all the power unlocked.Didn't rivian mention a launch mode in the future? My memory is vauge but I feel like this could have some potential.
I like both styles. I watched an hour long video about production simplification hosted by Sandy, and you can see why he's respected.Man, munro vids are great when sandy isn't there.
Potentially 15% more on the rear axle is only about 7.5% overall, so not enough to drastically change anything.Nothing that I recall outside of the 'brake pedal, release, go' launch style. I wasn't given the indication it was 15% more at the rear, I was given the impression it was 10-15% overall.Potentially 15% more on the rear axle is only about 7.5% overall, so not enough to drastically change anything.
Would have to go back and watch, but thought he said the measurements of the rear drive unit were 10-15% larger than the front, and didn't even specifically mention that translating to the equivalent increase in power for that unit, but only that "perhaps more power is available to be tapped in a future OTA".I wasn't given the indication it was 15% more at the rear, I was given the impression it was 10-15% overall.
I wasn't disputing what you said. I was referencing what I have said in other posts - the person who gave me my test drive indicated total power of the vehicle had been limited, I'm assuming by software, by 10-15% because it was too powerful.Would have to go back and watch, but thought he said the measurements of the rear drive unit were 10-15% larger than the front, and didn't even specifically mention that translating to the equivalent increase in power for that unit, but only that "perhaps more power is available to be tapped in a future OTA".
EDIT: it's at 13:00. Yeah, what I said above is correct.
