Can someone who has received the update speak to how far the kneel is? Is it basically 'lowest' or is it a special mega-low kneel or whatever?
I received update will measure in the am. But I was told by person who delivered my vehicle it would be about 1" lower than the lowest level. We'll see in the morning

I stand corrected on the CP and AA. My misguided point was that "cheaper" cars come with loads of features that more expensive cars do not or have to pay premium for.

Just did my update and I just confirmed that kneel mode in all purpose is almost but not as low as the height with sport mode in the lowest ride height. Once in kneel I pressed sport and it seemed like it dropped about .5 or less of an inch.

The kneeling itself it pretty quick though, was down in 2-3 seconds.
This doesn't make sense if it's true. It would be useless if not lower than "lowest" in Sport.

I respectfully disagree. It will be very useful for those of us who keep our trucks in AP most of the time. It’s the “automatic” part that provides the usefulness. Lower would be better, but it’s not useless.

I’m installing the update now and am excited to check it out.

You lost me here. The purpose of Kneel mode is to go low so you can get in or out easier. If you already have a mode that can go lower than Kneel, why would you need to Kneel? I'd rather hit two buttons (if I was in AP) and go as low as the truck can every time to ease entry/exit.

Automatic is the key. Otherwise we’re pressing multiple Buttons every time you park the car, and then again every time you get back in the car to raise it back up. Having it just automatically lower and raise without having to intervene is the real value for me.

Of course it's good to have it automatic, but it does nothing if it doesn't accomplish the intended purpose. Kneel to go low first and foremost. What I'm saying is Kneel needs to go lowest here.

Be sure to give it time to lower completely. According to the release notes opening any door during the process stops the kneel.

As an aside, this is odd behavior. Rivian had no issues with allowing auto-leveling with open doors prior to 2022.31. I know first-hand from having the truck adjust while putting my baby in her car seat. I say let the lowering continue.

Enjoyed kneel mode today. It was super quick and easy. It does pop up and allow you to cancel when you put the vehicle in park (right side scroll button on wheel).

I often don’t engage park, and just let it auto engage when I open the door so this is a new habit to engage park prior to egress.

overall, it is a plus. I did loose some Spotify controls (steering wheel controls not operable) and my radio stayed on even after egress. Had to do a screen reset, but that seemed to address it.

It’s all good. We clearly have different priorities for this feature. What you find useless, I find very useful. Such is life. Hopefully they’re able to push out something in the future that meets your needs (user configurable kneel height?).

We don't need a user configurable kneel height. Kneeling is just for easing entry/exit so the lowest height would be the easiest for the purpose, for everyone, not just me. How tall are you? Let me ask you the simple question - would you find it better if kneel mode goes lower than lowest in sport mode instead of a some what low but not as low position?

Rivian doesn't want to be liable if it lowers a door into say, a rock. Open door with plenty of clearance and truck lowers itself into something- that's a recipe for a lot of pissed off customers.

I agree- automatic is the key part. I plan on driving around in AP most of the time and down't want to be touching buttons to get it to lower.

This could happen either way, regardless of door opened or closed.
