Didn’t someone on the forum cut their leg stepping down off of the gear tunnel door? The CyberTruck must have a couple dozen sharp corners that could do some serious damage.

I have CT reservation because Tesla has delivered on their specs in the past and when I made my reservation, $49K for a full size truck with 300+ miles of range and access to the supercharger network, plus the performance specs in terms of acceleration, payload and towing, was a very good value. Again, making some assumption that they will deliver on the original specs. If it can seat 6 when delivered it will meet a current void in the market of vehicles that seat more than 5. Will I actually buy one when my reservation number comes up (probably 2025)? Depends on how well we like the R1S and what the final specs and pricing are of the CT turn out to be. If you set aside looks, CT will very likely be a fairly practical full size truck. One of the big drawbacks will be the inability to access the bed from the sides because of the "sails." At the same time if the tailgate is actually able to double as a ramp that will make it pretty great for motorcycles and loading other heavy things.

Yes, I do remember that. I was glad it seemed to be just that one person with the issue. The CT is dangerous by design.

My bet is that Tesla is secretly working on a stainless steel Cybervan.

The CT is plain ugly to me. Add that on top of Tesla's crappy service and shoddy build quality and it's a complete stay away for me.

Now before I'm flamed for this consider:
  1. One Friend got a Model 3 at New Years 2020. He was out of town for the holiday and Tesla told him he MUST come back to town and take delivery of said car before midnight on 12/31 or he would lose his reservation. My friend rushed back to town, stood in line at the factory for hours, only to be told by Tesla the car wasn't ready and he could pick it up on 1/2.
  2. Take our Roadster that was just into Tesla for service. We had an appointment for a set date and time and when we checked it in, we were told we are Roadster number 6 in line and it'll be about 7-10 business days before they get to it. And no you you must leave the car here so we can get to it when we are ready (mind you we live 2 miles from that service location).
  3. Another friend has a Model 3 that's about 10 months old. While riding in the back seat, I can easily spot 4-5 areas where the moulding doesn't line up with he headliner, B-pillars, etc. Look at the outside of the car, and there's several panel gaps that are off, and there's a noticeable difference where the front hood isn't aligned from one side to the other.
To me, it's not worth the exercise in pain the CT would obviously be.
