Where is there a link to reserve?
We have posted here as a way to find out how much interest there is in the Rivian community for a project like this. If it turns out there are enough people who want one to move forward we will set up some sort of reservation / pre-order list and post about it in here.

I'd absolutely throw money at this. Great idea.

For the airflow/cooling concern - I think you're right it's probably not a problem. But, a cool engineering solution might be a way to run some heat pipes down into the water tank (maybe even as part of the baffling) to use it as a liquid heat sink.

Basically just warm the water with the waste heat so you can have both a warm(er) shower and a cold beer. Just a thought!

Yep, on point and on brand, and totally appreciated for what’s organically become a tongue in cheek motto/logo.

I’m a huge fan of the dometic cfx series, own a 75dz - but am enamored with the idea of a permanent spot for a frunk cooler.

If I may make an observation/recommendation:

consider adding a drain plug, on the left side - as you face the cooler - to line up with the frunk drain. Or maybe even some direct tube connection for draining. Would certainly ease in cleanout when/where necessary.

Super appreciate folks like you that have the entrepreneurial spirit and energy. just like all the 3d printing dudes making and sharing designs.

Love the community. Appreciate your efforts, and sincerely hope to be buying one of these from you in the near future.

Thanks man =)

That's an awesome idea but sadly the plumbing complexity and cost to use the water tank as a heat exchanger is fairly substantial. You essentially get the same benefit from the water mass without a physical connection anyway.

One of the most important design goals was to be as simple and as close to "bulletproof" as I could get because the use case for these trucks is adventuring--hopefully in remote locations. Easy to use. High reliability. Extreme durability. Repairability including in remote locations. A usable lifespan measured in decades.

There are drains on both sides / both compartments of the cooler. It is a two compartment design so you can run one side as a refrigerator and the other as a freezer. Or both as either.

Do you have a website? If not, how can we track the status of this project?
We basically posted in the forums to get an idea of how much interest there is for this project so no website, sorry. If it turns out there is sufficient interest I'll post some sort of pre-order link in here so stay tuned =)

While Rivian did remove the 12V outlet in the frunk, the wiring still remains. A 12V outlet can easily be re-added to support this project.

That is really good to know!

I wondered if they had altered the wire harness. Excellent news as panel mount 12V plugs are very inexpensive and simple to install.

Just one of many examples:

Great work! I'd be interested in this

Good to hear the wiring is still there, but still a bummer Rivian removed the 12v in the frunk, I've already found it handy a few times...

Seems like the right project for a Kickstarter campaign! With 10k+ trucks already delivered (or very soon), along with more being delivered daily, there should be tons of interest in this!
