Sorry but you just don’t get it. the way isn’t about the saving them money. Try to read what I said again. Slower maybe. You are fixating on the wrong thing. Let me spell it out for you: Unhappy customers aren’t repeat customers. They aren’t telling friends/family to buy one. And I love my Rivian so that’s not the issue here. It’s better that these concerns are noted before it gets to that point. We’ve already seen it happen here by the way.
On an aside, You sound a bit like some of the Tesla fanatics that defend Elon and the company no matter what they do. Tesla makes a great product but they have lied repeatedly to their customers and failed to honor commitments they put out there. Rivian has copied Tesla is MANY ways which is a great thing in most respects. That being said there are issues with Tesla that Rivian would be wise to learn from and not duplicate.
I also want to say this is not a jab at the service center or the Rivian rep I am dealing with. This is constructive criticism of Rivian’s processes. And yes, my previous experience certainly does help. I see things from both sides because I am both a consumer with 20 vehicles currently as well as someone who has been on the receiving end of unreasonable and prima donna customers and their expectations. That isn’t a Rivian thing. It’s not even a car thing. But it doesn’t matter because I’m not that guy. Having a car sit for 5 days because you don’t have a system in place to reunite it with the customer in a timely manner is an addressable issue. My hope is Rivian monitors these forums and takes the feedback into consideration. If you want to add to the conversation I’m all for it. If you want to try to undermine my opinion because you hope RJ is going to bless you in some manner take it elsewhere.
Man, you are taking this wayyyyy too personal.

Truly. but this isn’t a world hunger or war in Ukraine forum?
Agreed, but you know that they are trying to figure things out essentially in real time....and not too well often times. Just gotta give them time....or you're going to be forever expecting unrealistic results.

Rivian picked my truck up a week ago. Cupholder, PPF bubbles in gear tunnel door and a couple of other minor things. They had the truck ready yesterday (Friday) because they had to wait for the cup holder to come in. I asked that they please arrange to have it back ASAP for this weekend and to start the process ahead of time as they told me there was usually a 24 hour period to get the tow arranged. They said they would try. So no word from them after that. I called this morning and was told even though it’s ready and they are open it could be Wednesday before they bring it back. It was ready on a Friday and you are going to take 5 days to get my truck back to me?? This isn’t going to work Rivian. You won‘t have the ”normal” consumers tolerating this amateur level service on a six figure vehicle. I guess they are lucky I’m abnormal and didn’t pay six figures?
This is good info for me, I'll probably keep my Tacoma on the side, just incase... for a while.

If you are that unhappy then flip it, take the profit, and buy whatever brand you feel will live up to your expectations. There isn't a single R1T out there that won't sell for more than you have in it. If you feel like Rivian makes improvements in their quality and processes in the next few years, then come back. If you think it's still "Tesla vibes" then don't. It's really pretty simple.

Admittedly, I don't know much (if anything) about towing services but this is, in fact, a holiday weekend (and a fairly big one, being the end of summer and all). So I think that these services are probably slammed over the weekend with their drivers taking time off and dealing with emergencies. So the 5 days is realistically 2 business days.

Why flat bed a vehicle 3 hours each way to RSC for minor PPF bubbles, a cupholder, and “other minor things”?

Why not just wait for bigger needs and then maybe drive it in?

Sorry if I missed it, would really like to know. I’m admittedly spoiled by a nearby RSC but am also deferring minor items for later.
They wanted to check underbody stuff. It was their call to take it in.

yeah that’s the solution. Don’t try to make improvement, just leave. I hope if youre married you took your vows a little more seriously;)

It wasn’t the service department holding it up. It’s Rivian’s choice to subcontract the transportation. Odd too because they have 3 rollbacks on site there at the service center.

I'm sure the rollbacks are reserved for delivery only right now, especially in a place like Georgia where you can't take delivery of your truck at the SC.

Some of the headwinds they are facing are legislative (SC not allowing service centers at all + Georgia limiting sales activity). If the state legislatures of GA, SC, and NC actually cared about their constituents and got rid of protectionist franchise laws it would make our lives a lot easier.

Would they not do a mobile service call for those little things?

Just the fact that they are willing to pickup/drop off a vehicle for service issues is well above just about every OEM out there. Volvo/Acura/BMW/etc are not sending a flatbed to pick up your vehicle unless it won’t move. Otherwise when you get your appointment in a month or so, you’re expected to drive it there and drop it off. Heck you might not even get a loaner these days and they’ll tell you tough luck….figure it out.

I don’t get all of these complaints on Rivian service. Are they not perfect and do they have a lot of improvements to make……ABSOLUTELY!!!!
This isn’t an ideal situation for Rivian or customers but unless they only want to sell cars in a few major markets where they have service centers it‘s the only reasonable solution. Customers are not going to buy a vehicle they have to make 5-6 hour round trips for service on a daily drivers. It’s not a Ferrari. Ideally mobile service can handle the majority of concerns but not everything and I think their concerns about the suspension/underbody are why they wanted to truck it to the service center. The complaint I am making isn’t about rivian service but rather Rivian corporate’s decisions to sublet the work out and then have no control over the experience. Oh, and for those who haven’t had service done yet, be aware that Rivian charges you $75.00 PER day if you leave it at their center more than one business day after it’s ready. Quite the double standard??

I stopped reading after the second line. You sound unhinged and just looking for people to cosign your nonsense. Sorry about your cupholders ?

Totally agree. This state is owned by the lobbyists for the dealer association which is crap. I think your probably right about what those rollbacks are for too. Had not thought of that. i went to pick up my truck. It was a mess of an experience too and I wasn’t alone sitting in the waiting area. They are still in beta mode down there it seems. Hoping with time/experience they will get better but they literally fixed 1 thing on the list. The rest wasn't corrected. I have no idea why they told me it was ready yesterday. I would elaborate but it seems the fanbois may not want to hear it?

It’s probably for the best. I didn’t write it in crayons so you likely wouldn’t be able to understand it.
