It looks like a modern 4-door Citroēn SM to me.

I like the design of Citroen’s SM better. To my eye, Cadillac designers took a potentially elegant design concept and added a bit too many hints of design DNA from GM’s Pontiac Aztek.

It seems every fansite of American automotive brands say of the American competition either "meh, not my style" or " that is craptastic."

Cool car but "over 300 miles of range" is not acceptable.

$1k for every 1 mile of EPA range is too much money.

I shuddered when I read “Pontiac Aztec” …

Sure, there is certainly some element of brand favoritism involved. And then there are vehicles that are just flat out fugly. In my own opinion, the Celestiq is one of those cars. As far as I am concerned, you can lump pretty much every Cadillac made in the past few decades into that bucket except perhaps the XT6 which actually isn't bad looking. I wouldn't buy it for other reasons, but it's not unattractive.

In the case of the Celestiq, you're not paying for range. You're paying to be in the same exclusive company as Rolls and Bentley. Or so they claim. True luxury vehicles are way overpriced as basic instruments of transportation, but that's by definition.
