Being that Rivian sent an email confirming pet mode on the latest update, clearly they don’t have the most up to date info (no surprise there)
Simple content error in the communication, someone clearly missed it on the proof read as well!

If you look at the link for the update info I shared earlier they type-o'd the sub-heading with 19.03 as well. Someone working too hard and not paying attention.

75 minutes my ass. 2 hours in and here we are.

That's the last time I try to update anywhere but home, and any time before bed.
Yeah, mine has been at it for about 1 hour and 20 mins, and still at 63%, definitely the longest of any update so far....

Several things:
  1. You can only get to Lowest if you are in Sport or Conserve mode, so we usually just lower it to Low in All-Purpose.
  2. The truck really hates staying at any height. I pretty much have to fart around with the drive mode screen every time I get in or out (especially if my wife is with me) to get it back to Low.
  3. Geo-tagging is OK to make it easier at common locations. What they really need is to add an "In Park" pop-up similar to the garage-door pop-up. Whenever you put it in park, it shows this, and asks you if you want things like "Kneel mode", "Easy-exit seating", or climate settings like "Dog Mode" or "Keep Climate On".
  4. I actually think they can get the vehicle lower if it is in park. They could easily drop the air bags until it touches the wheel well—we know for a fact that the wheels will rub on the well if the air bags fail, so it seems like we can squeeze another 1/2" out of it. If you move it out of park, it can raise back up before it lets you drive.
No matter what, without steps, it's really hard for shorter or less-able-bodied people to get in or out of the truck right now—especially on 20" wheels. For example, my 72-year-old mother hasn't gotten into it yet. (Some of this would be better if they had included an A-pillar handle, too.)

It's probably my biggest "complaint" about the truck from daily use. Even on low it sometimes feels a bit high to hop in at times, and I'm average-ish height.
Yea I'm surprised they made off-road mode persistent, but not the others! Why not just allow any mode to be persistent? I tend to just commute in Conserve and Low (easiest to get in and out of without compromising ride quality). If that was persistent, i'd be happy. Otherwise it goes back to Lowest when driving and standard when parking.

Of course most useful would just be a drop to lowest in Park mode.

Probably because my truck is on my home WiFi, but mine updated in right around the estimated ~75 minutes

So......what is this new Energy App all about??? Even if limited currently, it's very promising that they split it off as it's own tab/screen.

I agree with you they should do all but I think the priority on off-road mode is due to owners damaging their trucks (me included) when it unexpectedly went to all-purpose while on a trail.

Ride Heights are persistent across different drives, with the exception of the All Purpose mode - it is persistent during a drive, but reverts to Standard upon a sleep cycle. My Sport mode has been in Low since the first time I changed from Lowest (which is factory setting).

Ah interesting. I think Conserve is also not persistent. Come home in the evening, take off in the morning, and then have to go futz around with the settings again.

I'm not sure Rivian anticipated Conserve being used as a default "daily" drive mode, more as an emergency range extender. I've honestly been quite surprised at the number of people who seem to want to default to Conserve.
