Exceeded expectations. Absolutely loved the R1T. The utility and storage are incredible. Interior is really nice. Liked most of the colors I saw in person (Launch Green, El Cap, and Rivian blue - but I did not like Compass Yellow from afar and I have had one orange car and one yellow car in the past). Did not feel like I was driving a truck - felt like a sporty SUV, though not a sports car as some may have reported. It's fast and powerful. I kept pestering them about potentially buying an "orphan" or "mismatched car" - i.e., one built but with a buyer backing out.First mile impression?
I did learn there is some pedal technique to prime the car in order to get the 3.1 second 0-60 time. I can't remember what it was, but the employee who did the test drive mentioned it. The battery has to have a higher state of charge as well.
The employee was great and enthusiastic. He asked how we wanted to spend the time at first and I immediately said, "Can we go off-roading and can I see a camp kitchen?" He quickly said no to both. LOL. But the entire experience was great. My 8/2020 reservation is currently configured for Max pack and Ocean Coast, but if given an opportunity via the R1 Shop to take delivery earlier with Large Pack and Black Mountain, I likely will.
