There isn’t a vehicle on the market that can do everything this one can…I honestly think it’s true value is probably the price ranges on Autotrader , or Autotraitor for those flipping ?Unfortunately while resale values are extremely high, scalping will be common. It's really annoying, but almost everyone i've told that I recently picked up a Rivian asks if i'm going to resell it![]()
Cars and bids is based on buyers fees, On top of the selling price you agree, you will have to pay 4.5% , on a $ 115K auction you are talking about $4.5k extras. Why are they going for so much lower ($10,000+) on carsandbids.com than on eBay and Autotrader? There are a couple on there now that likely won't sell for more than $110,000. https://carsandbids.com/auctions/9e5DJNZy/2022-rivian-r1t-adventure
I think you took my post wrong, what is amazing for me is the quantity of Rivian listed for sale. Not the price..... Price is relative... and I just don't care, your truck your price. The market will put you in place or not.Not amazing/surprising to me.
Other enthusiast forums generally see this all the time, especially with rare/desirable vehicles. I wouldn't call a Rivian (or a Tesla) forum an enthusiast forum so this is probably surprising to many given how many posts I see like "omg, can you believe this Rivian is selling for $130?!?!".
This is a new vehicle. One with almost no close competitors based on its features. Plus with a global supply shortage. Not shocking at all.
Maybe they were going to cancel anyway (i.e. they purchased another vehicle / tired of the wait and constant delays / etc.) and this is their strategy for a better return on investment for the $1k deposit Rivian has had all these years. Plus they got to enjoy it for a little and realize, yes this is the way to go. I would not be surprised if we see more. The thought has crossed my mind regarding my R1S order.I think you took my post wrong, what is amazing for me is the quantity of Rivian listed for sale. Not the price..... If got the email from Rivian and get deliver my truck, I wouldn't sell it. Not even for much more of the highest price listed.
That's another way to see it and I agree with it. some people probably did that. Who know's where we are going to be in 2 1/2 yearsMaybe they were going to cancel anyway (i.e. they purchased another vehicle / tired of the wait and constant delays / etc.) and this is their strategy for a better return on investment for the $1k deposit Rivian has had all these years. Cars and bids shows you the history of Rivian Sales..... Very interesting hows the price went down from the first auction back in April.I imagine some of the higher priced ones are people who want to keep the truck, but are willing to part with it for a price.
The reason they're listed for sale is that they haven't sold yet. Just because someone lists it for $150K doesn't mean there's someone buying it at that price.
While I'm sure there are a few $150K buyers out there, I doubt there's enough to make it a price that gets a frequent sale.
I'd be more interested in numbers on how many actually sold.
