Happened a couple days ago but wasn't sure what to make of it until I heard a response from my questions.

The odd part of the situation is I had contacted customer service (for my first time ever) a few weeks back asking about changing from OC to BM and if that would change my 1st half 2023 preorder to a possible YE 22 order. I received an email back about 2 weeks after saying that I would have seen no change so I kept my order as-is.

Flash forward now another couple weeks and I get guide contact..

Adventure pack, r1s, white on white, standard wheels.

Not trying to make anyone mad.. or excited.. I had some doubts.. I am in Minnesota, about 6 hours or so roughly from Normal. Guess we'll see.

If it's any consolation you're far from the most egregious of late orders getting guides.

I'd be surprised if they actually had an ocean coast truck for you though.

Edit: just noticed you said R1S. Yeah that's messed up lol.

Congratulations to you but this makes no sense. You are a relatively recent order and not near a SC. There are tens of thousands of people ahead of you - no logic on how this happens.

There is a service center in Minneapolis so not necessarily far from service.

I don't disagree, although I am about 20 miles away from a SC.

If a non-LE R1S order is getting a vehicle (or even info about timing) before 95% of LE orders my level of frustration with Rivian will reach galactic levels.
Not upset with OP but it’s a complete joke how Rivian has treated the rest of us.

Again, nothing against the preorder owners, but the queuing system at Rivian makes absolutely no sense. It doesn’t seem like they‘re producing so many R1S that they have to start contacting non-LE owners at whatever location.

Very confusing. Happy for OP and I’m a 9/21 preorder myself, but hoping I don’t end up so lucky because next year’s timing works better for me and gives them a chance to work out some more issues between now and then. I feel like previous contacts like this for R1Ts have been explained away as having certain configs already at the service centers and needing to unload it to the next closest reservation, but this makes no sense at all given that no R1S’ have been shipped to service centers yet. The mystery continues…

This is noise, not news. Imagine Rivian is actually making a non-LE OC R1S, then imagine they choose to make this one of the first R1S deliveries to a recent customer. Nonsense.

I imagine it’s either:
1) Rivian erroneously thinks OP order is for an R1T and they are going to convince you to leave OC with a call
2) This vehicle was a display at an SC (are they selling those?)
3) OP is not being truthful (say it ain’t so)
