Just FYI on the WiFi. My truck initially had issues and I tracked it down to the truck only supports WPA2. My AP's at home were set to support Mixed WPA1 and WPA2. Truck did not like that. I ended up going pure WPA2 (better that way anyway) and truck is fine. Hope that helps.
It actually supports WPA3 as well. I recommend shifting to 3 if your devices support it and I absolutely recommend disabling WPA1. If your devices only support WPA1, it's time to upgrade them.

Wait wait wait...setting a home location will keep your truck UNLOCKED the entire time it's parked at home? That seems...not safe.

I assume the idea is that if your truck is consistently parked outside, it’s probably not close enough to your phone to accidentally lock/unlock, so you wouldn’t need to turn this mode on

Only if you have that feature enabled and don't manually lock it.

Opposite for me. My truck was constantly locking and unlocking out the driveway 15-20 ft from my office. So I guess I'll continue to be unable to use proximity lock. Leaving unlocked at home doesn't solve my problems.

Funky, but not surprising. The proximity unlock is......temperamental. We have a tiny garage that only just fits the R1T and my partner's RS5. Every time we go to take the Audi, I have to walk by the R1T and just about every time, it unlocks (sometimes twice). So I welcome this mode, since I don't really care if its unlocked in my locked garage

I just got my truck, but I'm hoping I can turn off auto lock/unlock and I won't have to worry about the battery drain or proximity of my phone. My car is in my closed garage, but I don't like auto lock/unlock because of the security risk of the radio repeater thefts.

You can. There is a setting to turn proximity key off in the vehicles menu.

Is there a place to manually force a check? Or are you just going to the software update screen in the truck and app?

No way for us to force a check - manual checks if update screen or app to see if available. Or networking gear to see if truck has downloaded a decent enough amount to suggest an update

I updated the software on the Loaner yesterday. Now this pops up every time I start up the truck.
