Why does your sig say you ordered in 2019?
I didn't add the second order to the signature yet as it wasn't finalized and didn't have an EDD, but thank you for reminding me.

Is there a Nashville service center?

I couldn’t agree more. Rivian needs to lock in configurations. Way too many reservation holders are constantly changing between models, options, exterior and interior colors, etc. Tesla does not allow this and you lose your deposit if you cancel.
It's not a deposit on Tesla. It's an additional ordering fee. It doesn't go towards the price of the car. They only have deposits on unreleased cars, those are mostly refundable.

This is so frustrating. I have an R1T order from last year, Adventure with BM interior. Someone was speculating that they were allocating these very late orders to people close to existing service centers which at least made some sense. But if that's not the case, then why/how is this happening with what seems to be increased frequency?

Correct, I meant ordering fee.

I just got off the phone with my guide. I thought this might be a possibility, but I never expected it to happen this quickly. He said my adventure reservation has been selected for fulfillment!

That's just over 2 months from the date of order.
And one month from changing your order?

I won’t claim to understand it, but I do think a number of factors play into it. I already had a guide assigned from my LE reservation. I ordered a very commonly-produced config. I don’t think there’s a ton of preorders in the Nashville area (relative to the coasts). I’m also paying the higher price (which could help their revenue for the quarter).

Spoke with my guide again yesterday morning to lock-in my config. I was waffling between the 21s and the 20 darks. I asked him what it means that my "order was selected for fulfillment": is the truck scheduled for production, currently in production, already built, or potentially any of the above? Apparently he doesn't know for sure, at least in this instance. I then asked if changing from my as-configured 21s to 20 darks would potentially delay the truck and if so by how much (was my selection a "lottery" that will throw me back into a random hopper if I switch or will it just push it back a bit?). All he could say is that it would almost certainly delay, but he could not say by how much. I decided I could ultimately be happy with either wheel and would rather not risk losing my spot, so I stuck with the 21s. I also asked him when I should expect to hear something further. He said it would likely be next week or the week after.

A few minutes after the call I noticed the config was now locked on the site. Unfortunately I had overlooked that my previous wheel switch from 20s to 21s had dropped the full-size spare, so I texted him and requested it be added. A few minutes later I got a text saying he would add it, and the change reflected on my still-locked config shortly after.

About an hour after our call I received an email telling me to prepare for the digital purchasing process with my guide's signature and contact info. It discusses the 8 steps and has a link to a checklist of items I'll need handy to complete them. I thought this might be an indicator that the 8 steps are open for me to complete, however the site/app did not and currently does not show the 8 steps. Is the 8-step process what he was referring to when he mentioned "next week or the week after" as my next contact, or will there still be a PBA signing beforehand?

Also, he said he would need to ask around about changing my LE R1T to an R1S. He said it's definitely possible, he just doesn't know how to do it nor does he know if he can open it back up to allow me to make changes. At this moment it still shows as an R1T. Does anyone know if guides can unlock a config to allow us to make changes directly rather than having to text them every time?

Received the 8 steps this morning. Immediately hit a wall with my trade information. I want to get quotes on both current cars before deciding, and the X5 is pending review. I also tried doing insurance and ran into a manual review there as well. I’ll get it all squared away Tuesday, hopefully.

Is the VIN they give during the insurance step the actual truck VIN or a placeholder for quotes? 7FCTGAAA0NN0062XX

I had a vin for EC with BM. I told my guide I preferred EC with FE and my My Vin and 8 steps disappeared. So looks like BM is in production now

I'm shocked they are in the 6000s already.

Pretty sure this is the #1 driver for what happened for you here. It might have been nice if you had specified that up front. Until this post, that (very important) fact wasn't obvious. Once you have a guide assigned, anything is possible.
