So I had this question as I prepare for my tint. What kind of tint comes on the rear windows from the factory? Does it have the same properties as the ceramic you put on the front, and thus the decision not to do them?

An Xpel shop locally quoted me for all four windows and the back window as if it was standard to do the rear even though almost all vehicles come with factory tint there. Clearly I want to save the money on the rear side windows if not needed.
Interesting. Iā€™ve never even considered adding extra tint to windows that are already tinted from the factory. I always just ask my shop to match the fronts with whatā€™s on the back, and they seem to know what to do. I have no clue if the factory tint has the same properties as to what is put on the front! But now Iā€™m curiousā€¦

Tinted front windows. PPF of front, hood, quarters, mirrors, etc. And crossbars installed.

Nice!

I did the same as you except I also tinted the windshield and my crossbars haven't come yet. How recently did yours come?

My limited research has suggested that factory tint isn't actually a film, but rather "baked" into the glass, but doesn't necessarily have any IR resistive properties, just UV/shading. Granted, that information is from tint shop websites.

Mine showed up less than a week after taking delivery of the truck. I was honestly surprised at how quickly they came.

Sweet. Hopefully mine comes soon too. Been a little over a week since I took delivery. However I'm not confident it will come to the right place. I also never got tracking info until after my wall charger was "delivered" (see below) so I can't make sure the other items are going to the right address although Rivian assured me on Monday that they are.

My wall charger went to my old address even though Rivian had my new address as the shipping address then it got returned and forwarded to an address at a condo in Denver I have never lived at. Neither UPS nor Rivian can give me an answer as to why. I tracked down the president of the HOA for the condos to get it back who was a very nice lady. Submitted a claim with UPS and Rivian as well but that ended up being faster so I got the charger yesterday and installed it this morning. Luckily I have free Level 2 charging less than mile from my house so wasn't in too bad of shape.

How well does LG camouflages road dirt, dust, and scratches. I choose Pre-order GW and it was scheduled for delivery today May 20, 2022 but has been cancelled due to Quality issues. My guide offered me a LG. In foresight, I think the LG MAY have more value a few years down the road, but I will not baby this baby and know, from past experience that white shows nicely, even when soiled or scratched. Thoughts anyone? Safe adventures, Mike The only time my vehicles get washed is in the rain.

Thank you for posting. Please share with me if there was noticeable dirt and dust on the LG finish after your adventure. I was expecting to pickup my GW today but it has QC reject and they are now offering me a LG substitute. I chose GW because of less dirt/dust/scratch showing after what you did in OR. But I may consider LG or wait another 21 days. The only time my vehicles get washed is in the rain. Safe adventures, Mike

Like any off-road toy, it picks up mud, but dust doesn't cling too bad. I did get ceramic coating, that might be why. I would definitely choose LG over white if you don't plan on washing much. Unless that's your jam?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've owned an white P/U since 1995 and off road a lot, if LG can preform as well, I may jump for it. I looked at a few LG's in the SC lot and they show the dust just from sitting there. Safe adventures, Mike

That's what I am picking up next week. The wheels are a stone cold rip off at $3500 but they are badass plus this was the truck i could get now.

I was always planning to get the black wheels until I saw them in person. They are definitely the best looking, but they are shiny and the design looks like it could scratch easily on trails etc. So I just went back to stock AT.

If they match me with a truck that has them - I will take them, but would prefer not to pay extra for something I'll probably thrash.
