My originally $71,800 Explore R1S with 22” wheels jumped to $90,250. What was originally included they’ve made everything an option.

I’m stunned by this honestly. There’s a better than even chance I’m out. I can’t justify a $12k increase. I was prepared for $5k.

Still shows included in my re-configurator:

But you better check your new price as I believe the Adventure pack went up to $85K for LE holders. It proves $1000 doesn't get you much.

The increase is baffling, my initial thoughts would be something of about 10% to account for. I knew a rise was imminent. My configuration went from 78,300 to 95,750 a 22% increase ! Holy F !! Most manufacturers have to volume to adjust a few thousand per redesign once margins are set. This to me is showing Rivian is not planning on ramping up to high volume anytime soon. with Higher volume they can make up margins on volume. I think they over promised and underdelivered. I’m still undecided in the truck. It’s amazing in every aspect my only withdraw is charging network coming from Teslas nothing can compete with it yet. I’m holding my reservation to see if things change. Rivian maybe taking a page from teslas book where they announce something to see if it sticks. After so much publicity they cave with a lower price or change of features. All I can say is a sad day today for many.

I voted undecided but I am heavily leaning toward canceling. Cybertruck is making progress finally, Ford is almost there, Chevy is moving, hell there is even the hummer EV coming . By the time Rivian delivers to me (10/21 preorder) there will likely be at least two more electric trucks to choose from. Love the Rivian more than any other option, but not willing to absorb this massive price increase for it. I’m getting a Tesla Y while we wait. Even if the other trucks aren’t there, if Rivian doesn’t reverse course I’m likely to stick with the Tesla longer.

I'm right on the verge of cancelling. With so many delays, discontenting, and now this ENORMOUS price increase, I'm really sour on the idea of a Rivian right now.

They have certainly killed any good will they had from me, and I wish I would have never invested in the company, too.
I'm in the same boat. I blame myself. I bought into RJ's BS. Now the excitement is gone. I've lost all interest in Rivian. It's hard for me to admit it, but maybe Ford actually knew how bad this company was.

No longer a Happy Camper. Our R1T price jumped to over $100k since we have a max pack configured, which is now a $16k upgrade. We are either going to cancel or downgrade the range. No way will I buy a truck for over $100k.

My configuration went from $80,100 to $98,100. I thought there was a chance prices might increase a few grand, that I would've tried to offset by taking off colors/off road package. I thought the original price was a good deal, and since Rivian was a startup, they should to be a "good deal", at least at first. But up $18k, while some may think they are still a good value, for me, they are not affordable. I am not prepared to wrap almost $100k in a vehicle at this point in my life (and if I was, I would probably prefer a bare bones 911, to get one before they are gone). I have a Lyriq Debut Edition reservation, that I was on the fence about, but Rivian firmly pushed me to it.

I also really feel bad about the customers that have had preorders for years, getting the rug pulled out from under them just as deliveries are starting. Also, all the employees buying at the "original price", plus the stipend.

This probably won't be Rivians last price increase.

R1T Pre Order 10/2021, Delivered 8/2022
What a buzzkill. My R1T config went from $74.5K to $91.5K. Can't imagine being able to justify this now. It's only $16k which in the long run isn't that big of a deal but I really think they should have grandfathered in pre-order holders and raised the price for everyone else on 03/01/2022.

My pre-order was placed in Oct 2021, I can't imagine how if feels for you LE guys who ordered in 2018/2019 and you were expecting delivery in the next 6 months....really sorry.

I've never been on a Forum page before. I see we're all commiserating. As for me I'm keeping the deposit for now, but honestly, the F150 Lightning will probably be my buy. I sure wish it could be different, but $92,000 for an Explore package with Max Pack is just too much.

My preorder went up $16k after believing and promoting this company for years. I am lucky enough that I could likely afford the price increase. But I can’t afford the fundamental destruction of my trust as a customer with an unknown brand.

If Rivian can do this — they can do anything. What will stop them from having horrible repair service? What will stop them from locking out new features behind paywalls? What will stop them from pivoting to only commercial vans in a few years?

The Rivian brand is dead. I’m out.
