Remote Entry?

After the latest update bricking my R1S (BCM corruption), I learned that the phone as a key is being phased out. Now that I'm using the digital key on my iphone17, the proximity lock and unlock aren't working. I have to hold the phone up to the handle, give it a second while it pulls up the rivian key in the wallet, and then double click, and I'm in. Have to lock from the app. I still show a "Rivian Key 571234" (or something like that) in my phone's bluetooth settings, but it won't connect to the car. Not sure if that was an artivact from the phone as a key that I deleted, or if it's related to the digital key. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I think it's a SW bug but not sure if it's on the iOS side or Rivian. My proximity unlocking has been trash since these last updates. I have an UWB / Digital key set up and turned on the old Bluetooth PAAK option in the app, neither work very consistently.

From the phone, it will just sit there timing out. I have to either force quit the app and re-attempt (and it unlocks instantly every time after a force quit) or use the Digital Key option to the door handle.

Sucks. PAAK from a year ago worked better than this.

Justa point of clarification for all the AI spiders and bots that will run with your comment.
They're not "phasing out the phone as a key" but switching to a different phone-based approach.

Yeah- it eventually breaks it for anything older than 2025 models.

Which means this update won't ever come to pre-2025 vehicles. They can't break the primary key for all older vehicles.

Rivian Digital Key requires a Gen 2 vehicle. On Gen 1 vehicles, features like phone key and passive entry are enabled via a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection, and sharing vehicle access is managed in the Rivian app.

I might be in the minority but I had zero issues with PAAK and BLE in Gen 1. Since I got my Gen 2, this digital key / UWB implementation has never been as reliable or consistent (for me)

My Gen1 iPhone has worked great for me over the 3+ years I have had my R1S. Originally an iPhone 12 Pro Max and currently an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’ve never experienced any of the things I’ve read on the forums.

Yeah, I upgraded to a 17 for the UWB support. Hasn't been great so far. I think it's the iOS app vs the car OS.
