Heartbreaking that that level of damage is a write off. I'm guessing beyond airbags deploying there is probably invisible damage underneath, but a real shame generally...

What caused the crash? Were all safety features operating correctly? I've major safety issues with my Rivian. It's back in service... again.

Yea, the second the airbags go it's over. Just the contamination of the interior from the airbags is enough.

I think that the problem here is the R2 probably made the damage look less severe than it was when you consider it was a hard enough hit to get the airbags out.

I'm sure there's damage here that the pics don't do justice since it had to be totaled. Rivian did tout repairability for the R2 though and a focus on getting those costs lower.

I remember reading that there was a service center that canceled test drives because their R2 was crashed. I wonder if this was it.
