Custom Fit R1T Bedliner

Wasn't happy with a basic bedliner. So bought a 5x7 mat from Black Armour and cut-to-fit the R1T bed. Included link to mat and Sketchup file for the custom cut dimensions. Easy to do.....use a carpet knife to cut the rubber, use a straight edge, take your time & don't lose a finger! The fit is tight, an 1/8" inch either way can make all the difference...but we aren't building the space shuttle...so try to cut to the dimensions but don't get toooo caught up being perfect...you may have to trim here or there.

Wow. Looks awesome. Did you use tape to make cutting templates or how did you measure?

Didn't make any templates. I measured the bed then laid out dimensions on the mat. Wasn't too complicated. Easiest way to do this is to cut to rough size 53x57"....then layout as indicated & draw the dimensions on the mat...then cut.

Also gives you a piece big enough to do something on the tailgate if someone wanted but I didn't. Repurposed the extra as a floor mat I the garage!

How strong is the rubber smell on that mat? My wife won't be happy if it really stinks up the garage! Looks like a nice product and thanks for the template tips.

There is definitely a rubber smell but not sure how to quantify it. I can smell it in my garage I guess. Part of the problem is I enjoy smelling gas, mineral spirits and acetone so.......

Thanks for posting. I am buying this mat today! This mat is definitely HD at a 1/2” thick.

Dumb question, does the smell go away? Also, how would you secure the matt to the tailgate?
