Rivian R1T R1S Anybody else here into electric boats? rivianXshore

The truck tows this thing better than our diesel but we average 1.0 miles/kWh at highway speeds so we don't typically tow long distance outside of ~200 miles. The X Shore / Rivian combo definitely turns some heads at the boat ramp. We will be towing around an Ingenity 23e soon once it gets added to the fleet!

Pretty cool!

Hopefully they'll redesign the prow to a more conventional shape as that (IMO) would make it look much nicer.

Range? I know that's a tough figure to nail down in a boat for many reasons.

PS.. what does the R1T report the rig weighing?

@epowermarine has one! He posted about it a couple years ago in this thread.

<Googles those models to see price>

Jeeeeesus! Let me know when the electric john boat is ready.
Hahaha, yeah, we're pretty avid boaters, but the EBs (er, I guess?) haven't hit any kind of consumer critical mass to get the price down yet. There are some "reasonable" electric outboard setups.

I love the idea of knocking around quietly in the ICW, maybe easing up into one our good fishing spots, totally silent.

I'd really like a pontoon boat, in the SeaDoo Switch style, that gets like 25NM, nothing crazy. Enough deck space for a cooler, build an induction stove setup, and of course a bait well.

Nice, yeah, we're not hardcore with the fishing mostly just having fun killing time. Heck, we could just putz around 1-2 miles from the marina and have plenty of fun.

Was the first reservation owner on an Arc one, but didn't take delivery sadly...

I converted my Newport 33 sailboat to electric four years ago (while waiting for my R1T). Removed the diesel engine and fuel tank and installed Electric Yacht 10kw motor and two 48V LiFePO4 battery banks (Battle Borne). Replaced 12V ship power with 200Ah Dakota Lithium. Quietest boat in the harbor!

Can we see some pics of what a converted engine space looks like? That sounds more likely something that could be more attainable of those with 'fiddler / make it work' time and energy.
