I’m checking out the new Rove charging station in Santa Ana CA off I5.

Really nice place on the grounds of the old HomeTown Buffet that my kids liked long ago! 40 chargers mostly busy. Gelson overpriced mini mart and nice lounge as well. Pics below.

Really nice. 58 cents per KW at 2:30 so not cheap. Same price as local Tesla, EVGO, and EA. Maybe starting issues and large number of clientele but power limited to under 100KW. But still useful considering location.

This is first of several such places in OC, Riverside, and LA county. Looking forward to Corona location while traveling.

While testing a higher power charger got to 138 KW. Still a bit low for 65% full.

Yes, the R1T got a bath in their movable washer. Nice job. Took help getting the Rove app to produce a code! But the helpful people figured it out with me.

I think some people are saying the charging cables are amperage limited. So anyway to get a fast charge is to have a 800v car. I would guess it's a 300amp max based on your speeds

Interestingly there were many Teslas there despite a Tesla charger nearby.

If it's 58¢ all day long, even peak hour, it's actually not terrible. Other networks during peak can be higher than that. It's a bit out of the way from my office (near OCMA), but I may try it one of these days and take the 5 home instead of the usual 405. Level 2 charging at work seem a bit steep for how slow it is: $1.25 per hr for first 4 hours. $3/hr after.

Are the Tesla v4 working now to charge Rivians? Someone else went earlier and they weren't working yet. How much was the wash?

Tesla v3 and v4 work with Rivians with the adapter. Some v4s have longer cables so no problem taking two spots.

$11 to $17 for wash.

Good to see a sizable new charging location in So Cal. Out of Spec Kyle’s recent video got me paying more attention to EV charging availability at AirBNB’s for my trip to LA next month. It would not be fun to get stuck waiting for a charger when I should be on the road back to SF.

And you initiate the Tesla chargers with the Rove app correct?

I did also see people just use POS system with credit cards.
