Official Story: Rivian Hosts Family & Friends Day at Normal Plant

My dad worked at Caterpillar (headquartered in neighboring Peoria, IL) for the better part of 3 decades and as a kid I remember fondly when they would transform the plant for family day with activities and food and it was a lot of fun.

Good for Rivian for having and continuing this tradition.

Very cool of them to do this.

So you're a native of central Illinois? Which plant .... Building SS (final assembly of large track-type tractors)?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. My dad didn't work in Peoria. He worked at a Plant in Central PA that was closed in 1996 - right after he retired.

My son works for Boeing. I've been to "family day" at both of the plants in Washington; the 737 factory in Renton and the largest building in the world by volume factory in Everett where the rest of the planes are built. I've really enjoyed family day.

I love a good family day at a manufacturing plant.
