"BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A+ is severe snow rated and carries the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol... Trail-Terrain T/A+ features a new high-silica all-weather tread compound for improved wet traction, wear performance, and rolling resistance compared to the original Trail-Terrain T/A."
My guess is BFG had this in their pocket and approached Rivian to be their OE option with this new compound.
A dedicated tire can get double-secret/weird/mysterious at launch.
Here are the tires available for the R2 currently listed on Tire Rack.

Looks like someone ratted-out TR for a premature spill?

"On-Road All-Terrain tires -may be- branded with the M+S and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbols are sometimes used as Original Equipment (O.E.)"

This gets curiouser and curiouser...

"The Streisand effect is a phenomenon where attempts to suppress, censor, or remove information backfire, causing it to become much more widely publicized... The 1989 boycott of Married... with Children by activist Terry Rakolta is a classic example of the Streisand effect, where attempting to censor content backfires by increasing public awareness... Rather than being cancelled due to low advertising support, the controversy caused Married... with Children to become a major hit."

Sadly no UHP AS
I'm really tempted to see if the Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 in HL275/50R22 that I have for my R1S will fit on the R2, but I'll have to source some 22" wheels that fit also. Those tires are slightly under 33" diameter, I have to believe that the stock R2 setup isn't so tight that these wouldn't fit at all.

Have we confirmed bolt pattern and offset are same as R1?

R2 bolt pattern is 5x4.5 vs 5.5 for R1. Offset is similar to R1, but the wheels aren't as wide.

I'm looking at a set of wheels that would fit the front of a 2021 Maserati Levante. Hub size is a lot larger, but that's an easy fix with a hub centric ring. Not going to order anything until after I can get under an R2 and take measurements though.
