Hey all,

We are finally seeing some options for the market for folks wanting to use their trucks out in nature.

Yeah I was tracking them, but couldn't get a photo of there rendering except for one on instagram last year

Yeah I don't think they have actually built more than some prototypes and I am sure not on a Rivian, so available is a stretch. They do have a render of their tent version on an R1S.

I just acquired an AirCruiser myself, but it looks like you're only looking to compile a list of options that utilize the bed space? So, you're not looking at iKamper or anything like that as well?

Yeah there’s way too many rtt for me to try and track and keep down

GoFastCampers will be selling the topper only version this summer too. I think it's $4900? Or there's the inflatable one. I've heard the Ford maverick inflatable topper fits the R1T.

No pictures or availability yet, it’s also 2x the price of the RSI SmartCap which is the best on the market. I’d settle for available. The inflatable looks horrible, still a rumor that a Softopper is coming.

I'm confused why you couldn't use a traditional truck camper if it:
A. Was under the bed load limit.
B. Didn't have the part that extended down over the bumper. (ie. you just use part of the tailgate as the bed)
Go easy on me, I'm well versed in the world of travel trailers and motorhomes but truck campers are new to me.

The manual specifically says no slide-in campers but it certainly has been done. Finding one that wouldn't blow up your payload is another issue, the lightest slide-ins are on the order of 1000 lbs dry.

So it looks like this one is the only one with a king bed option. Is that correct?

All of these have significant aerodynamic impacts, but this one looks especially bad. There are huge air gaps between the camper and the truck, that have to make this one the worst, or one of the worst from an efficiency perspective.

Anyway, is this really the only king option of those you looked at? It seems great, except for the efficiency issue.
