Took delivery of the R2 on Friday and could not be more excited. The R2 is awesome!

I absolutely love the way it drives. The ride is very smooth and it handles very nicely. The power and acceleration is legit and fun!

Love the interior and it is spacious. Getting used to the halo haptic wheels doesn’t take too long. They feel a little stiff, especially when pushing left or right but I think that can/will get dialed in with future software updates.

I have a few very minor nitpicks:

- The turn signal is loud, even though they apparently turned the volume down in the latest software update.
- I also don’t like the way the turn signal doesn’t really “lock in” to place and there’s no feeling to let you know if you’ve activated it fully or just engaged it to flash twice and quit.
- The lack of CarPlay is an adjustment. Obviously, I knew this going in, but this is the first vehicle I’ve had without it basically since it was introduced. Not a deal breaker by any means and I may even come to prefer not having it.

I can’t / won’t comment on efficiency yet because 1) way too small sample size and 2) I’ve been having fun with it. Plenty of full send moments going 0 to 50 or 60 or 70. Having fun testing the 60 to 80 passing on the highway. So yeah, I haven’t been trying to be efficient.

Oddly, my key fob didn’t come with the vehicle at delivery. They will be delivering it to me in about a week.

I tried autonomy+ a bit and it worked really nicely, including the lane changes. Although, the lane changes worked flawlessly during the day, but at night when I tried it again, nothing happened. Not sure if it had to do with it being night time, or just the stretch of highway I was on.m

I added a few photos, including my 11 year old daughter fitting in the frunk! The others are from this morning when I took a hike out near Red Rock Canyon here in Vegas.

I’ll be dropping it off soon to get the windows tinted, PPF on the full front and ceramic coating on the entire exterior.

I can’t wait for our first road trip in this thing.

I used to have a BMW F30 328 and the turn signal didn't stay up or down - it centered immediately after pressing it. It took a while to get used to, but after a few weeks, it felt totally normal and driving in my wife's car with a conventional turn signal felt weird.

Agreed. I will get used to it quickly, but it just feels so odd coming from a traditional signal.

It did not.
Did you get a spare tire? The owners guide says models without the spare should come with the tire mobility kit.

(Check the back of the sub-trunk, by the second row seats, if you haven't already. They may have stashed it there rather than putting the whole product box in the car.)

Did yours come with an inflator / leak refill kit? Mine didn't - wondering if it's standard or not.
Window sticker shows the mobility kit is standard?

Haha, I’ll be damned. I forgot to check the tucked up area of the sub trunk. Yes, indeed it did come with the mobility kit.

And no, I did not get the spare tire.

Rivian assistant is a nice alternative to no CarPlay. I thought I would miss CarPlay not so much in the last 3+ years of owning my R1S. The turn signal is something to adjust too, it becoming a common thing for cars.
