I'm preparing to have PPF added to my R1T. I didn't even know what PPF was until 3 months ago, so I'm very new to this.

The XPEL shop I went to offers the "special" program promoted by Rivian, $1,500 for the front end, not edge-wrapped, not debadged, 8mil thick.

They also offer an upgrade that includes debadging, wrapped edges, protection on the pillars and mirrors (and maybe headlights), 10mil thick XPEL. This is nearly $2,500.

I signed up for the less-expensive option but would appreciate any advice. My first thought is that I just want to get protection on the front where I'm most likely to get rock chips etc, and I don't need to overspend.

I'd appreciate any feedback - thanks in advance.

There is another older thread involving an XPEL Vice President clarifying what the Rivian program with XPEL included. It was different than the shop told you if I am remembering correctly.

It is my impression the initial Rivian program with XPEL shops ended when Rivian began doing XPEL in Normal.

Thank you for linking to that. I searched the forum for "XPEL" and "PPF" before posting but must have missed that one...

The forums search function is stupid sometimes.

Also consider installers for SunTek Reaction and Llumar Valor (same products, different names). These films offer the same protection and warranty at a substantially lower cost.
