Can someone educate me on what type of extension cord I’ll need to power things such as fridge and router from truck bed in case of power outage?

The outlets are 120v and 1500watts. So you just need a cable that can handle 12.5 amps at a minimum. (1500w/120v=12.5amps)

Thank you! Preparing for the hurricane about to hit SoCal.
Good move. Just remember that ALL of the outlets have a total output of 1500w. So if you plug in a fridge using 1000w, you can only power another device using 500w. Check your fridge specifications to find the wattage. I shouldn't be a problem but it's good to know now.

Thanks. I’ll look into it.

Also, make sure it is a stout (thick gauge) cord and not any longer than what you need. Heat build up if it's not thick enough and voltage drop if it's too long.

Keep us up to date and let us know how it goes.

One more edit...I'm a fan of extension cords that have a little light in or near the female end so you know it's live.

12ga cords are really nice for standard stuff like that. It's the minimum size used in construction as well, more and more jobs are going cordless though but that's neither here nor there.

Are you charging your truck to 100%? What do we expect the drain would be of a fridge and some lights.

Over long runs 12ga. The minimum rated would be 14ga for a short run
