I wish there was a momentary button to ENABLE tilted mirrors (shift into reverse and be able to tap the screen or a steering wheel button). The only place this would be a great benefit to me is when parallel parking. I do this.... 3-5% of the time, maybe? SO, I'm for sure leaving the mirror tilt feature disabled.

But everyone has their own use case. And having a feature we hadn't had before is awesome, so I'm also not going to complain about it.
I think some people are more comfortable with cameras.

I think some people grew up in an era before cameras and don't entirely trust them.
No one is wrong. Just so long as they're safe! :)
I also wish it could be enabled on demand since I would also use it for parallel parking and nothing else. A friend of mine, on the other hand, has been patiently waiting for this on his R1T since the moment he bought it.

Agree 100%. There's obviously value in it if tons of people requested it (it was very popular on RivianTrackr) and Rivian took the time to see it through to production, so it's obviously on me that I'm not currently seeing that perspective. Asking solely to try and expand my view. :)
Cameras work almost all the time except really when I enter my garage under certain conditions. If the lenses are dirty or if the sun is shining in at a certain angle, then I don’t see much. Mirrors are more reliable in those instances.

My Gen 1 R1S had a problem after this update. Currently being towed to Service Center now.

Basically, won't stay engaged in D or R. Once you take your foot off the brake pedal, it will engage back to P automatically.

Spent over 30 mins with Rivian on phone. They told me it's a known issue with this update, related to the new wheel configuration feature. Affects both Gen 1 and 2. The work around was to select a different wheel/tire reboot. Then reelect the original one. Reboot with hazard button again. Eventually the car was drivable. However, later on the day my wife had the same issue and was stranded. I went to rescue her. Surprisingly I could drive the car with my phone as key. However, we lost confidence in this and don't want my wife get stranded again. Rivian sent a tow truck the next AM to get it to a service center. Also provided a rental.

So if I were you, don't rush to get this update until they have a patch.

FYI the version on my Gen 1 is 2025.06.01.
Saw this being shared on twitter and Wassym replied that it was diagnosed as a sensor issue that presented itself after the upgrade.

Whish you the best of luck and hopefully it gets repaired quickly for you!

Shared this in a different thread...

If you know you've received the push but your vehicle is not downloading the OTA... Have you done a reset since last OTA? Turns out default behavior is for WiFi to be turned ON every time you reset. And if there are no known WiFi network present for your vehicle to connect to, it is not smart enough to look for and use your Connect+ subscription instead. So check your vehicle's WiFi setting.

Sorry if this was reported in the last 10 pages: anyone else loose the ability to deactivate proximity at home?

Maybe related to you or not, but an interesting thing I’ve noticed for two separate updates now, is that, like you, when I get into the car and it wakes up it needs to re-establish communication with my wifi. However, when software updates start to roll out, if I leave my house and go run an errand I need to, when I get home and the car establishes wifi connection again I’ll immediately get a notification that a software update is available. As mentioned it’s only happened twice, so I guess it could just be coincidence, but at some point if I’m anxious for an update (say I have a trip the next day), I’ll take a drive to the store or something to see if arriving back to home wifi triggers anything.
This just happened to me about an hour ago. I went to get something to eat, came back, pulled in the driveway and it prompted me for a software update.
