I am heading out to visit my daughter in Denver Colorado June 10th. I want to go 4 wheeling with her in the mountains. Perhaps stay at a cabin in a state park close to some trails with good views and some off roading challenge.
Looks like I will be looking for 5 out of 10 or a 2.5 out of 5 kind of trails. Don't want to scratch the paint or drag the underside, but getting out and spotting in the difficult parts is fine. I did get the AT tires but not the underbody plating. I do have an OK amount of off roading experience.
I can't find a list of RAN chargers. I need to be careful that I don't expose my wife to a lot of negative charger finding/waiting experience as I pretty much bought my R1T without permission. So I am still winning her over. 😉 If there are only a few of these in the state I probably should plan to start/finish at their locations.
I know the onboard nav will show me where to charge and for how long but I am finding that some areas suck for charging and just choosing to keep the well chargified paths seems the smarter approach this early in the game for me.

Do I need an OHV permit?

Your plate, as far as I know, will allow you to drive on any named with a street sign road. When you get over to forestry roads, I dont know.

I like the trails around Mt Evans, all named with a street sign as far as I know. Cascade Creek Road, Ute Creek Road, Forest Service Road 246.1 (aka Devils Canyon Loop).

Pretty Easy to get to, I-70 out of Denver, Idaho Springs exit for Mt Evans Hwy 103, Make a left, and look for Cascade and Ute on the right. If you got the switch back, you have gone to far.

Devils Canyon is further up on the switchbacks.

I own a cabin up on West Chicago Creek Road. No trails up there, but this is how I know of these trails.

You can have a small adventure on your way over. Go across OH MY GOD road. Its beautiful, and not nearly as scary as this website leads you to beleive.

Sorry, forgot about chargers..

I know there is a Tesla Branded Super Charger station in town. But beyond that, I have not looked. Idaho Springs is a Tourist trap, so I would imagine there is something.

Looks like a Blink Charging station, and ChargePoint are in town.

There's a fast charger in Lakewood at the Colorado Mills Mall (by the parking garage on the northeast side. I believe there's also chargers in Idaho Springs.
Lots of good trails off 70 between Idaho Springs and Georgetown. Let me look at my guide book later and give you some good recommendations that won't result in pinstriping. Oh My God road is doable in an Outback, but leads to some other more challenging stuff. I agree with Tollkeeper that it's interesting though.
You may want to check TrailDamage.com – Photos, videos and information about 4×4 trails in Colorado and Utah . Terrible name, great site. They seem to have the best info on what is passable as some of the higher stuff can still be snowed in that time of year.
If I have my spare, I may be able to accompany/escort if you're interested.

https://www.trailsoffroad.com/ is the best site for scouting out trails in the area.
If you head towards Nederland you’ll find fast charging in Coal Creek or Boulder. Nederland has level 2 chargers to top off. From there you can hit Rollins Pass East, Switzerland Trail, Mammoth Gulch, and several other easy to medium trails. Don’t try the hard trails like Middle St Vrain, unless you’ve got the experience to rock crawl.

If you want to go wheelin’ with a partner, give me a PM and we can put something together. I hit a lot of those trails during my summer weekends. I also have plenty of recovery gear.
