Pretty sure this is the #1 driver for what happened for you here. It might have been nice if you had specified that up front. Until this post, that (very important) fact wasn't obvious. Once you have a guide assigned, anything is possible.
It may have played a role, but there's reports of others who placed their first orders in April who are already scheduled for delivery. Unlike me, they did not have a guide assigned from another reservation. Their guide was assigned the moment they were selected for fulfillment.

Agreed that there have been reports of this, but they are very few and far between across thousands (10s of thousands?) of orders since the price hike. The odds are much better that this was attributable to you already having a guide than just some random lottery ball selection.

Still - seems like a best case scenario for you. Huge congrats! Enjoy your truck, and hope the R1S makes its way to you soon as well!

8 steps are kind of a pain, at least if you're planning to finance with another company. Step 3 asks you for lender info, which I entered, then they give you a "purchase agreement" which is different than a "motor vehicle purchase sales agreement." The financier needs the latter, not the former. My guide had to unlock the contract signature step for me, then I signed the actual agreement and was able to forward that on to DCU.

Then there's the insurance fiasco. I was able to modify my policy to add the VIN, no problem, however Progressive doesn't provide any sort of proof of coverage for future-dated changes. I had to contact them to get a verification letter. Waiting on confirmation from my guide that's sufficient.

Trade values were a total joke. I know they're just wholesale values, but some people have reported getting solid values. Not for me. Super lowball, way worse than even KBB, Driveway, etc.

While I was filling everything out I had a missed call from an Atlanta number. The voicemail said they were from Rivian and asked me to call back. It was someone different from my guide who was handling delivery scheduling. He said they have the truck in-hand in Atlanta (about a 4-hour drive from me), and it's currently undergoing PDI. He then asked if I could do delivery in mid-June, which is perfect as I'm out of town this week and the next. I'm currently slated for a 6/14 delivery.

I know it's not the fastest turnaround we've seen reported, but just over 3 months from order to delivery is pretty wild.

I had something similar where my guide’s backup guide looked up the wrong account (I have one Oct ‘19 LE and one Sep ‘21 Adventure) and was about to lock in a LE on the Adventure account. Hmm. I wonder if I could get 2 LEs?? But I’m saving the ‘21 for a max pack, in case I decide the LE doesn’t have enough range.

Who’s taken delivery of a truck out of the Atlanta SC? Are they thorough in their PDI process? I’ll probably go over the thing with a fine-tooth comb.

My home delivery from the ATL SC was delayed for 9 days due to a "problem with one of the door handles." Was never informed what that was exactly.

As it was being delivered on the flatbed truck, first thing I did was walk around the vehicle and inspect for missing bolts/fasteners. 3 out of 4 wheel wells had missing bolts and/or plastic fasteners, and a ticket is pending for a mobile remedy, at least 3 weeks after delivery at the earliest per conversation with service this morning.

So, ATL SC, missed this. And their delivery technician just blew it off when I pointed it out. He didn't make any note of it in his paperwork. Fortunately, Rivian is going to take care of it, hopefully before anything falls apart. Didn't see any difference in the wheel well appearance after a trip to and from Mississippi, so that's encouraging, may not be that important, but I really have no clue.

It’s not perfect, but hopefully everything is fixable. I haven’t been able to go over it in detail yet. The delivery guys were great.
