Once the dust settles, I might actually ask if I can switch from explore to adventure without the powered tonneau now that it’s an option. I vehemently did not want a powered one, as they ALWAYS break. Confirmed that it was broken on my first mile drive as well lol
That's one thing that I think theh may entertain assuming you don't ask for a further discount.

Received this email today. Still taking with a grain of salt but seems to suggest that as long as we stick with the quad motor, our pricing will be as it was pre March 1.

Thanks for reaching out to us here at Rivian! It's great to have you with us for this incredible electric adventure.

I'd be happy to clarify this further for you. Once your account is updated and back to the original price, you can freely reconfigure your vehicle within the parameters of the original configurator, which does not include the increased pricing. Since your account will update to be with the old configurator, those options that were available before, will be available again as they were before. Selecting the Dual-Motor or the Standard Battery Pack are the only features that would put you in the new pricing.

To further clarify, since this decision was made very recently, it will take some time for the old price to be reflected on your account, but know that it will go back to that original configuration price. An email will be sent out in the coming weeks to let our community know when that will be reflected.

We're so appreciative of you and the rest of our community members for being patient with us through these changes. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us.

Your fellow adventurer,

It'll be interesting to see what further mass communications (if any) go out on this. I was talking to someone this weekend who isn't on the Rivian forums, isn't super passionate about Rivian but has a pre-IPO reservation, and only read the emails that were sent out. His impression was that you'd only keep the original pricing if you don't change any part of your pre-March 1st configuration (color, etc.).

Don't say that....the greedy people want to make sure they can get there greedy paws on options they normally wouldn't have purchased. Give the sheep an inch and they want a mile. Suddenly their configured model isn't good enough. Surprise surprise. ?
Who hurt you??

Sorry...the truth hurts sometimes.
I haven’t seen a single person even hint at what you suggested. People simply hadn’t made up their minds on options that they still believed they had months or maybe even a year or two to lock in. If anything, I would want to change to LESS expensive options than my current configuration rather than adding things, as you suggest.

But yeah, go on projecting your own crap onto other people you’ve never met.

Rivian R1T R1S Customer Service letter on price rollbacks 1647235461512

They really didn't have to honor the old price of the vehicles at all. So getting the vehicle with just the large pack and quad motors at the original price but having to pay a little more for the options still seems pretty good to me...
