That's definitely the right way to look at it. We killed a 30A breaker with a tt-30 at one of the campsites we stayed at after having plugged my adapted rivian portable in without adjusting the current down from 32A right away. Luckily it tripped dead instead of getting stuck on. I realized quite soon after first plugging it in that I hadn't changed the current limit, but it was too late by then.
Can you not change the current in the center screen before connecting?

Can you not change the current in the center screen before connecting?
You can but if you unplug to move the vehicle right away (we did, Rivian needs to hurry it up with the self-leveling camp mode), it defaults back to the maximum.

Ah, that's unfortunate. They really should let people "lock" that.

Also, it'd be nice to be able to adjust power limit AND SoC limit from the phone app.

I set up my OpenEVSE to advertise 24A for the next trip we take like this. I think the place we are staying for our next trip has a full 50A@240V so I won't have to worry about it.
