Stop the insanity! Phone is unlocking / locking doors of R1T parked in garage

I picked up my new truck today. It is in my garage which is just out the door from my utility room and near my bedroom. Is there some way to stop it from locking and unlocking every time I get near the door wearing my watch or carrying my phone? I would love to just leave it unlocked while sitting in my garage. Is that even possible?

Yes, you’ll need to turn off proximity locking at home. It’s a setting under access

Flashback to 2022… Set home address at center display. Then go through vehicle settings and set proximity to off when at home. Or, you can just turn off Bluetooth of your phone key, or place it in a faraday cage when at home. Faraday cage also applies to key fob, if you have one. The car is locking unlocking incessantly because it "sees" your proximity key. So blindfold it.

I have this exact same situation and it’s simple to fix. When you go into the setting menu there is a specific setting for automatically lock/unlock and then there is an option for “always” or one that says something like “unless I’m home”. That language may not be right but the gist is that as long as you have set a home location and have left tracking on, once you select this it will no longer lock when it’s in your garage.

I just get tickled that sometimes I have to get my phone out at the car to get it to respond. Yet when in our cabin, I walk into the kitchen and the car unlocks and locks constantly through 8x10 logs at a distance. Can hear the hooting. Just don't carry my phone in the kitchen.

Cute. I have owned the car for 5 hours not counting driving it home. I am hearing it start and stop constantly. I looked through the "manual" and did set location but couldn't find the answer. I will be sure to be properly informed before asking another question.

To be fair, the Owner Guide doesn’t cover every detail. Plus, software updates are issued faster than the document team can keep up. Sometimes the quickest path is Google search, not the guide. There are also some very thorough UI walkthrough videos on YouTube. They may be based on older software versions, so you need to check posting date to make sure the content is recent enough to be relevant. Last major UI change was about a year ago. There probably will be another before this year is over.
